[SUPER OUTDATED, DO NOT USE] An Unnecessarily Detailed Guide to Marriage

PLEASE DO NOT REFER TO THIS GUIDE. IT IS VERY OUT OF DATE (WRITTEN IN 2015) AND IS NO LONGER APPLICABLE. PLEASE HEAD TO [THIS LINK] INSTEAD.

So, you want to get married. Well, you have come to the right place... the forums! Yes, I realize that there is already a guide on how to get married on MapleRoyals written by Matt, but it doesn't have pictures & fancy stuff so I have decided to make one! (If you feel like skipping all the details, you can read the bolded purple text, and you should be good to go.)

Benefits of getting married (on MapleRoyals):

To get married, you must:

• be at least level 10
• have 25,000,000 mesos (to purchase the wedding ticket)
• have 500,000 ~ 3,000,000 more mesos in addition to the 25,000,000 (to purchase the wedding ring)
• have a partner to get married to (can be your own alt if you're forever alone; just needs to be on a different account)

The first thing you must do is find a partner to marry. Your partner does not necessarily have to be of the opposite gender. Boyxboy marriages are currently working.
EDIT: Girlxgirl marriages are now NO LONGER WORKING.

Next, you must head to Amoria. To get to Amoria, talk to Thomas Swift the Amoria Ambassador, this swanky-looking fellow who is located on the right side of Henesys.

Once you arrive in Amoria, talk to High Priest John the Cathedral Wedding Officiator who is located on the left side of the main map. Tell him that you would like to obtain a wedding permit. He will give you the item "Premium Wedding Ticket (Cathedral)," which will be in your Cash inventory, in exchange for 25 million mesos.

Next, talk to Moony the Wedding Jeweler, who is also in Amoria. Before he makes you a ring, he will ask you to bring back 4 Proofs of Love, which you can obtain from Nana the Love Fairy in Henesys, Ellinia, Perion, and Kerning City. Each of the fairies will ask you to bring different items to exchange for a Proof of Love. You do not have to speak to the fairies in any specific order.

• Henesys: Orange Mushroom Cap (40)
• Ellinia: Soft Feather (20)
• Perion: Firewood (40)
• Kerning City: Horny Mushroom Cap (40)

After you have obtained the 4 Proofs of Love, head back to Amoria & talk to Moony again. He will then take your 4 Proofs of Love and ask you for some materials to make an engagement ring. You currently do not receive wearable rings, but if you feel like doing extra work & having something nice taking up room in your Etc. Inventory, go ahead and make the expensive rings that require more difficult-to-acquire ingredients. Otherwise else, the cheap rings that are easy to make shall suit you equally well. After you collect the materials to make the engagement ring, talk to Moony and select the ring you want. Mooney will then give you an engagement ring box, which will appear in your Use inventory.

The different rings you can get & the materials needed to make them:

You can make Moon Rocks & Star Rocks through Arwen the Fairy in Ellinia. When you talk to her, click "I heard that you can make a special item..."

To make a Moon Rock, you will need:
10,000 mesos
Bronze Plate (1)
Steel Plate (1)
Mithril Plate (1)
Adamantium Plate (1)
Silver Plate (1)
Orihalcon Plate (1)
Gold Plate (1)

To make a Star Rock, you will need:
15,000 mesos
Garnet (1)
Amethyst (1)
AquaMarine (1)
Emerald (1)
Opal (1)
Sapphire (1)
Topaz (1)
Diamond (1)
Black Crystal (1)

Next, double click the engagement ring box and enter your partner's IGN. And wait until he/she accepts your proposal. I believe you have to be in the same channel, but you do not have to be in the same map. When your partner accept the proposal, he/she will receive an engagement ring in his/her Etc. inventory. You, too, receive an engagement ring. You will now also have an empty engagement ring box in your Etc. inventory.

Either of the partners may do this next part. After your partner accepts your proposal, talk to High Priest John and tell him that you would like to obtain a wedding permit. He will tell you to go see Mom and Dad, who live near Henesys Hunting Ground II. To get to this map, go to Henesys & go into the far left portal. You should be at Henesys Hunting Ground I. Then, go to the top of the map & climb up the rope which should lead to Henesys Hunting Ground II. At the top of Henesys Hunting Ground II, you will see two ropes. Climb up the one covered in pink ribbon, and you should be in a map called Amoria: Meet the Parents, where Mom and Dad the Lovable Parents reside.

Talk to Mom and Dad. They will ask you to obtain 2 more Proofs of Love from Nana the Love Fairy in Orbis and Ludibrium. Once again, these fairies will ask you to retrieve items to exchange for the Proofs of Love. THE FAIRIES IN ORBIS & LUDI ARE NOT WORKING ATM. YOU DO NOT NEED TO GO TALK TO THEM. ADVANCE TO THE NEXT STEP.

After you get these 2 Proofs of Love, talk to Mom and Dad again to get an item called Parent's Blessing.

Now talk to High Priest John one more time and tell him again that you would like to obtain a wedding permit. He will then take the Parent's Blessing and you will receive the Officiator's Permission.

YOU ARE NOW READY FOR YOUR WEDDING CEREMONY ​

Hurrah! You are almost finished! All there is left to do is the actual wedding!

If you want to, you can invite your friends to your wedding. Invitations are 25,000,000 mesos for 5 invitations and can be purchased from High Priest John. If you decide to buy invitations, they will appear in your Cash inventory. Make sure you hand them out before you start your wedding or else your friends won't be able to enter and you wouldn't want that to happen. If you do not wish to purchase invitations, then it's alright! Skip this step. Who needs friends anyway, am I right?

Talk to High Priest John and tell him that you would like to start your wedding. Make sure that you are in a party with your partner & that you are both in Amoria.

You and your partner will get transported into Saint Maple Lounge and a notice will go out the the rest of the server stating that you are to be married. Now it the time for your friends to enter. They can talk to High Priest John and tell him that they would like to see their friend's wedding. They will then be prompted to type in the IGN of either you or your partner.

Here were some fun reactions to my wedding:

After the waiting period is over, you and your partner will get transported into Saint Maple Altar. (If you invited friends, they will be at the top of the map where there are benches.) The leader of the party must talk to High Priest John who is on the left side of the map. Click both your character and you partner's character to open up your character profiles to make sure that the heart in the corner is now pink. If the heart did not get filled in, make a post in Character Issues in the Support forum using the correct format. CONGRATULATIONS. YOU ARE NOW MARRIED.

At this point, you can either log out or wait for the wedding to be over. You do not really need to wait for the time to be over or for the cake. You have already been married so it doesn't really matter. If you want a good photo-op, however, you can wait out the rest of the time and you will be transported to Cherised Visage Photos where there is a really big cake, which you cannot sit on.

You have to have two different characters on two different accounts. Then you can multi-client and marry yourself.
