    Hi Royallers,

New files are required for this update! Click here to go to the downloads page to download and install the new setup. You can choose between a setup using .wz files or .img files, as some users may experience fewer crashing issues with one over the other.

    Events:
    • 27th August to 24th September:
      • Lost Miwok Artifact questline enabled, speak to Kopee and Toh in Perion for more information.

        • Note: Only Mesos can be used for the Gachapon Machine this year.

    Misc:

    • Monster and Reactor drop system has been overhauled to fix a long standing bug relating to quest items:
      • Quest items will no longer drop from monsters or reactors after reaching the quest requirement.
      • Quest items cannot be looted after reaching the quest requirement.
      • Quest items will only drop from Reactors when the quest is in progress.
    • The player's Speed stat now affects how quickly ladders and ropes can be climbed.
    • Legendary Spirit will now show a yes/no confirmation prompt when using a White Scroll.
      • Note: At the confirmation prompt; clicking no, pressing escape, or closing your client will proceed with the item scrolling without a White Scroll.
    • Event quests correctly no longer count towards Quest Specialist or Quest Virtuoso quest count.
    • Some party related commands have been given an additional simplified form:
      • /leaveparty can now be used as /lp.

    • Pig Omok Piece now also drops from Ribbon Pig
    • Bloctopus Omok Piece now also drops from King Bloctopus
    • Trixter Omok Piece now also drops from Green Trixter

    NPC:

    • Luden now requires 250 Burning Energy to craft Von Leon's Chaos Scroll instead of 500.

    Map:

    • Mob spawn for Old Fox Flagship in Neo Tokyo has been slightly increased.
    • Summer themed maps added to Free Market, Lounge, and some Maple Island maps.
    Mob:
    • Demon Gargoyles are no longer strong against Ice, Fire or Lightning.
    • Respawn time for Crimson Trees, Homunscollo and D. Roy have been reduced.

We apologise for the delay in releasing the Summer Event. There were a lot more changes worked on, but we have made the decision to put those on hold for a following updated so that players can enjoy the event.

Update regarding the crashing issue since Update 86:

We have discovered that some code changes have affected the way that the servertime clock UI element is rendered and updated within the client, which in turn is causing frequent and intermittent crashes when running the client under it's usual compatibility mode of Windows 7. Currently, we expect that it may take us a couple more days to rectify the issue, or in worst case we will temporarily disable the servertime clock UI. We understand that most players have already disabled Windows 7 compatibility to fix the issue, however this brings other issues such as stun/freeze/burn skills not working properly, as well as the potential for other random crashes and issues. Therefore, we suggest using Windows 7 compatibility with the clock turned off within the client's system settings as the current temporary fix to the issue. Detailed instructions on how to do this below.

If you cannot enter the game without crashing:
    1) Locate your MapleRoyals installation folder, usually C:\MapleRoyals.
    2) Right click MapleRoyals.exe, and choose properties.
    3) Click the 'Compatibility' tab and choose 'Change settings for all users'.
    4) Un-tick 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' and click apply, and OK.
    5) You should now be able to open the game and log in, once in-game go to 'Menu > System Settings', untick 'Show Clock', and press OK.
    6) Close your client.
    7) Repeat steps 1-4, ticking 'Run this Program in compatibility mode for' and ensuring Windows 7 is selected.
    8) You should now be able to open the game as normal, with the correct recommended Windows 7 compatibility mode, and with the problematic clock disabled.

If you have already removed compatibility mode to fix crashing:
    1) Open the game and log in, once in-game go to 'Menu > System Settings', untick 'Show Clock', and press OK.
    2) Close your client.
    3) Locate your MapleRoyals installation folder, usually C:\MapleRoyals.
    4) Right click MapleRoyals.exe, and choose properties.
    5) Click the 'Compatibility' tab and choose 'Change settings for all users'.
    6) Tick 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' ensure Windows 7 is selected, then press OK.
    7) You should now be able to open the game as normal, with the correct recommended Windows 7 compatibility mode, and with the problematic clock disabled.
