Hey Jooon, thanks a lot for all of your time and effort making this guide! I have a rather beginner question regarding holy shield. Especially with, say, the beginning of a zakum fight where where the party might be split up and on different sides of the map, what's the skill's range? Does it by any chance affect all party members present in the map or is there a certain limited radius to it?
AOE of holy shield is limited, but the range is wider than holy symbol. Best to shield melee attackers/ whoever attacking on the left side during arms. You can shield as usual when all party members are on the same side (left) during bodies. Just gotta move out >> a little (close to the rope) to make sure shield gets to everyone as certain melee classes will be really close to body and sometimes if you shield in left corner, it might not reach them.
Yeah I've noticed that most party members stay on the left during arms for the most part (especially melee attackers) so that makes sense. Also that the debuffs are way more frequent after the arms have been killed. I only filled in for 3 runs at level 130 (so didn't have holy shield yet) but I wanted to know for later on Thank you for your answer!
Hey Joon, dunno how important it is but I was selling leech at SB a few days ago. I had genesis 20 and 1070 magic and in the 1 hour of me being there there were like 2 - 3 times where I didn't 1 hit the stormbreakers. So, like, 1070 magic is... 99.9% 1 hit? XD Maybe 1071 is 100%
this guide seems to be written with HT in mind a lot more than it should be, there's a lot of stagnation from selling leech at level 125-165 where you can make extra money by going to zak or pap etc where holy shield is needed, and i'd prefer to have infinity a lot earlier while im selling the most volume of leech tbh bahamut skill priority should be under holy shield or infinity, or put a stipulation next to it like "(for hearttstopper farming)" its been the most useless skill i put SP into up to level 155. i went gen10>mw10>gen20>gen30 > (13 into bahamut here while saving up for mw20) >mw20 if i were to do it all over again i would do gen1 mw10 resurrect 1 holy shield 1 gen10 gen20 gen30 mw20 holy shield ---> (put into these as you level as long as you have enough points for your next progression, or plan accordingly if you know what lvl you're going for) infinity --------^ holy shield is much more useful for helping pap attackers & zak (lets you play support role much better and gives you a chance at good loot, break from the montony of leeching), while you can make funds via low level leech. bahamut is really not needed in this regard as heartstopper farming will be unnecessary i would also add preferred level for leech as this information was difficult to hunt down FTP1 and below 12x-130ish, 40m/80m (mw20) -5m/-10m if mw10 SB - ULU2 135-145 40m/80m (mw20) -5m/-10m if mw10 skeles 155-160 70m/140m (mw20) also i would've loved a better equipments guide, just for the different types of equips to look out for. i.e. dark noel vs fkc vs red arten. or pgc vs crimsonheart cloak etc etc with that being said, tyvm for the guide. i feel spoiled for having this guide for my main, as i've looked at other guides for my side projects and they leave a lot to be desired. I recommend this to every priest or cleric I see, and the built in quest guides is a 10/10 quality of life.
Thank you for your suggestions! I haven’t updated these part for quite awhile! I’ll take a good look at the current progression meta & your suggestion into consideration and improve it along side with my next update. Spoiler I’m more towards >Gen 1 >Mw 10 >Res 1 >Gen 20 >Bahamut 20/Gen30 (go for gen first if u passed 30) >Infinity To be my preferred build as of now. I don’t think low level holy shield would makes alot difference and should not be prioritised over farming efficiency.
what makes you prefer bahamut 20 at that stage? is it just Heartstopper farming, or am i missing something? I've found it basically mandatory to get gen30 and mw20 to be able to farm ulu2 ASAP
This is a random one, but coming to Joon The All knowing or anyone else for an answer. What's the best way to get the 300 Ninto scrolls for Neo Tokyo pre quests when you're too stubborn to buy them? Is magic claw the only option for us? Does Big bang work? Not really wanting to put points into it
Bigbang is pure damage so it'll work. However, the terrain of the map is really crap to grind with big bang. Just grind in a better map and use the income to buy the scrolls.
Yup! You can even doom Crimson Guardians from the cwk area and farm Crimson Hearts effectively. Alittle pricy on the magic rocks tho
complete beginner here. Haven't play maple since 2012. What gear should I get for my first acc? What level should I be getting my gear? Thanks Heaps.
You can use the gears provided to you after you job advance and enjoy the nostalgia! Honestly you don’t really need anything until lvl35+. I recommend pure INT! Grind at bubblings, slime cave and aim for a Maple Staff at lvl35 then Maple Lama staff at lvl43 as your initial goal!
Hi Joon thanks for the guide, just hit lv120 XD so i was wondering if i want to buy Horntail Pendant how much HP do i need to survive it? cheers
As long you have MG active throughout the run, having around 2k + HP, you'll be fine! You might wanna consider wearing HP gears tho cause why not!
