I've noticed a lot of extra posts in the report abuse thread from people who have nothing to do with the actual report. I'm just trying to see the opinion of the community. Is the insight needed? Is it unwanted? Is it necessary? I have an opinion that I'll keep to myself and please, try not to mention any names.
It's already been stated and edited into the rules that if people comment on report threads without any actual valid info on it, their post will be deleted and they'll be warned. We try to keep on top of it, but its' easy to miss- the easiest thing you can do is report any posts you see breaking that.
John made it clear to everyone that replying/bashing the OP will not be tolerated. I reply mainly to give my thoughts on the matter and to post about previous situations where that issue may have occurred already and how it was handled.
I feel that certain members get off on expressing their opinion where it's not needed (i.e. @workteam , @Oldie). They force themselves into a discussion meant to be had between the accuser/accused, and the staff alone. The report abuse thread used to be an entertaining read, but now its all about derailing the thread and starting petty arguments. I think the staff is more than capable of handling the report abuse section without everyone's 2 cents.
I was thinking this last night after reading through a couple. There will be posts that are made reporting other people for what they feel is wrong. In response I tend to see lots of comments that really do insult the person who made the thread, and I do feel that its really not necessary to do so. I wont post names but I do want to give an example. Spoiler http://royals.ms/forum/threads/reporting-refri-for-ksing.17260/#post-100292 Quite a few of these comments are out of line in my opinion. Also I see some have been deleted, which I think should not have happened.
Yeah mine even got deleted once for reminding people that they weren't supposed to post. Didn't get a warning point though.
