So I've never actually bossed before in Maplestory. Lvling isn't really my forte xD I understand the gist of it, but there are some questions I have in regards to MapleRoyals specifically, and my HP Warrior. Are there "Expeditions" in MapleRoyals? Can there be 30 people killing Zakum on a single map? My HP Warrior can only deal about 450 damage every second to one of the lower arms. If I were, to say, do 135,000 damage to one, would I receive any of the experience from it even though I am level 60? As an HP Warrior, accuracy doesn't affect me, so does doing just 1 damage entitle me to a piece of the experience? Or do I have to do the majority of the damage? One that note... If I did 60% damage to Pianus over about 4 hours of HP Warrior madness, and then I brought my mage in and took out another 35%, but then left, and came back with my HP Warrior and finished it off, would my HP warrior get all the experience since my mage is offline? Would I, in fact, only have to finish off the last 1% of Pianus's HP with my HP Warrior in order to get the full experience, if my mage had done 99% of the damage, and logged off? Because if that is the case, could I not recruit a party to get Zakum down to .01% HP, and then pay them all to log off while my warrior finishes it off and levels like 50 times? Any answers are appreciated. :3 P.S. The catch here is that my level 60 can actually hit Zakum. That is why such far fetched questions are being brought to surface.
You only get exp proportional to the damage you do, unless you're at or above the leech level. 135k damage is about is about 0.5% of Zakum Arm's 25.3m HP, so you'd get about 0.5% of the exp, or ~22k. If you took the day off from work/school to stand on Pianus for 4 hours with PG on, and ended up taking out 60% of its health this way, you'd get 60% of the exp when it died. Keep in mind that it's not all that uncommon for people under leech level to be able to hit bosses with juicy exp. If it worked like you're hoping it does, this kind of leech would be way more common. One time I had to break the bad news to a newbie that came into my Bigfoot map with his red snail shells ready to go. I believe that in some later version, but still pre-BB, PG and/or leech mechanics worked differently, such that you could bump an enemy one time and get a bunch of exp. I have no first hand experience with this though. P.S. LMPQ is pretty good exp at level 60.
Good to know. Figured it was too good to be true. I'm not about to LMPQ on an HP Warrior xD That'd be a horrible waste of time. So, since soloing seems to be my only option, I'm assuming Bigfoot is the best I can do, since Krexel is in an instance, and I can't repot. Unless there are any other "Area bosses" like Pianus that I can leave the map and come back for, that give more experience than Bigfoot.
I agree, I think Bigfoot is your best bet. Since he does very high damage, you'll be reflecting a lot back at him, though it will probably still take a couple hours.
Perhaps this formula will work for you: EXP per monster * (0.4 * Player level / Total party level) * Party Bonus (Party bonus meaning Holy Symbol) This is the standard leeching formula. This works for me when I'm trying to calculate how much XP a leech will get per kill when leeching so I'm assuming this will work as well. However, I'm not sure what the percentage might be if you were to take off a certain percentage chuck off of Bigfoot. Let me know the percent/XP you get from that Bigfoot kill because I'm curious myself.
Hey Plenty, for your formula: EXP per monster * (0.4 * Player level / Total party level) * Party Bonus Does "Total party level" mean the actual total party level, or just the total level of all characters above leech level for the mob? I'm wondering because I have an A/M (in the process of making a hs mule). For example, let's say i'm leeching @ ulu 2. Minimum leech level is 90. In party: 90 Crusader 130 A/M 81 Priest Does the priest get factored into total party level? I wouldn't think it does, but I was wondering if you knew.
Total party level should be the combined totals of those who can receive leech in the party. In not too sure that a Priest with maxed Holy Symbol will take away XP from the leech. That's something you're going to have to test.
Because that's what OP is implying when he says he's trying to get a piece of the XP. The leech formula might not be considered in this situation, but it is something to keep in mind because this involves more than one person doing (majority) damage and experience splitting, the entire basis of leeching.
He was asking whether he could leech. He can't. Posting this formula is misleading because it does not apply to his situation. If he wanted to figure out how much leech exp a 105+ party member would get when he solos BF at 60, I'm sure that would have come up already.
He could actually leech a lvl 55+ player with that PG mule. Such exp many time waste very powerlevel wow.
I will get 100% of the EXP, because I will have solo'ed it. http://royals.ms/forum/threads/an-hp-warriors-journey-lvl-48-solos-pianus.17191/ Actually, I think I've come to the conclusion that "Anego -> Bodyguard A -> Bodyguard B -> The Boss" is my best bet. I'd have to wait until I have 30k HP. Tho they dish out like 17k damage, so I might have to look into some defense armor to get it down to 14.5k, because auto-pot can fail pretty often if it's lagging. But I think that would be a pretty awesome accomplishment.
