...and you got thrown in prison for life or executed because you said stuff like "I'ma kill you" or "I'll send you some nudes for that leftover steak" as a joke to your friends. That's how entirely absolutely positively brainless, mindless, and foolish that "RWT Joke" or "hacking joke" rule is. Like seriously what are you guys 5? While navigating to the "General Discussion" section to make this thread I saw a thread where some kid tried to get someone PERMANENTLY BANNED because they sent a friend of theirs a SNAPCHAT PICTURE FOR AN NX ROCK. Like it was obviously banter????? They're just having fun around friends?? I don't know if that person got banned or not but either way when you have MapleStory "karens" reporting people for stuff like that you know you have a problem.

Look at that. "Explain your supermegaphone" LMFAO like dude? Why are you talking to him like he just murdered your firstborn? What is there to even explain there?? LOL.

What kinda next level censorship is this? Even dictators wouldn't throw people in jail for this kinda shit but y'all take this game WAYYYYYYYY too seriously. Honestly I'm half expecting a ban for even making this damn thread. I could've spent my time making a constructive, well-worded feedback thread instead but honestly if y'all went this far I doubt my thread would make a difference.

    ./end rant

The fact that you feel the need to equate the staff of a video game private server with totalitarian dictators who are systematically murdering literally millions of people shows how absolutely out of touch with reality you are.

Just don't say stupid shit and make jokes in all chat or smegas so you won't get reported by soft people :D
It's not the gms problem. its a problem in our community.
and fr, people should focus on the real community problems- the real rwtrs, the real hackers and stop wasting time on this kind of reports.
I wish veteran players were at least a bit nicer to new ones and explained them the rules instead of reporting and making them feel bad and ashamed.
    BEING NICE COSTS NOTHING

Accusing me of ad hominem implies that you had any coherent argument to begin with.

But why is it not the GMs problem? They both make and enforce the rules.

Even worse, comparing someone with an avatar like mine to some sort of robo-tronic, unthinking, unfeeling overlord desiring only to imprison everyone.
@Kandon did you happen to see how that person's Ban Appeal is still marked as Open? Also, most developed countries will take action including imprisonment, for threatening to murder someone.

Your avatar has nothing to do with the way you acted in that thread. I don't know you so I'm not gonna comment on your general attitude but just from that thread your reply seemed absolutely "overlord"ish. Also the fact that you are legitimately offended by my dictator hyperbole speaks volumes about how right I was.

Also, yes that guys' ban appeal is still open but it doesn't change the fact that he was banned for it in the first place. This thread was for that purpose. Also, plenty of other people have been banned for equally dumb things and whether it's permanent or "just 30 days" it's still a dumb rule in my opinion. Also, "threatening to murder someone" is such a vague statement and such a bad argument because if people recorded themselves downloading hacks and ALMOST using them then I'd agree with you. But they're not. They're most OBVIOUSLY joking around with friends. And what about the steak/RWT comparison? Is there a real-life equivalent to that?

Because, as there are rules in real life such as "Don't smoke weed" if a cop gets a report from an individul he needs to take care of it- obey the rule.
What we can do as a community is help each other and dont get each other in such a situation.

A lot of offenses stopped because of players who go out of their way to report odd behavior. The GMs just simply enforce the rules, which I think are easy to understand.

TLDR; Don't use the megaphone to broadcast to the whole server dummy lit shit and you won't get in trouble.

Hopefully his appeal will be resolved soon, I feel for the dude.

I agree with your second statement but that's not how most countries' legal systems work. Cops don't make the law, congress does. In this case, Muff may just be a cop but the admins both make the laws AND enforce them, so they can change them.

    LMAO at the video.

Okay, but there's a difference between odd behavior and reporting people for obvious jokes. Also, there was no offense committed here. Reporting a suspicious player and then it turns out that they were actually hacking is different from just immediately banning anyone who makes a joke without even checking if they actually did anything wrong.

I don't know about you, but as a loyal employee I feel like you gotta obey the law even if you didn't make the law itself.
Instead of accusing we can try to make things better for us.

I agree. Follow company policy/law 99.9% of the time. But if I'm arresting someone for making a joke I'm going to make it painfully obvious that I don't agree with it. I'm not gonna come at them and tell them to "explain themselves" like the spokesman for high moral character. Muff may just be an employee but the admins here both make and enforce the rules, so they can change it.

Have you met a cop before? lol

And you're right it can be changed- but the question is should it- people shouldn't make jokes about hacking- it's like joking about murder then being surprised you get arrested. People who get arrested like that don't get the time they spent in jail back, nor will someone who gets a temp ban (or what have you) get that time back. You keep painting this like some authoritarian dictator, but come on, it's not like we are banning people for saying Matt is a rich guy with a big rich guy golden dong- in the same sort of breath of stupidity that China bans Winnie the Pooh.

I tell my friends "I'ma kill you" pretty often as a joke and I'm pretty sure 99% of people on this planet have said that too. You think I should be arrested for that? Only people who genuinely and usually repeatedly make threats of murder get arrested. Not people who joke about it.

As for joking about RWT, I've noticed people haven't tried defending that yet because it's obvious that it's dumb. I'm not advocating for NO regulation, but this is WAYYYY over the top regulation. I've read ban threads and you guys have access to literally every single tiny microtransaction or action done by any character in this game. If you're going to ban someone immediately for even the tiniest jokes about RWT, at least put in the damn effort to check if they did anything and unban them once you find out they did nothing wrong. As for it being "impossible" to prove whether someone RWTd a selfie on snapchat for 2 NX rocks, maybe the admins shouldn't be so damn uptight about stupid stuff like that. Just to cover the "at what point do you draw the line then?" comment that I know someone is going to make, there should be a little common sense used. I know the wording for the rule is "at the GMs discretion" but from what I've seen people get banned for literally the most obvious jokes.

EDIT: sorry if this sounds aggressive, I didn't mean it for it to turn out that way. Especially toward you since you're not a GM lol'd.

I don't make the rules, I realise it's ultimately me who put me in this situation. In the moment of posting the megaphone I felt I was elaborating on a joke started by a GM, not starting it myself. Just wanna make the context from my POV clear :)

Chill gamer. No one from the staff is out here to get anyone.

Sure, I won't go out of my way to report such smega but the staff still takes this seriously as they should.
Besides, They already made changes to separate what would be an innocent personal joke and what should be resulting in a ban. So things are really looking up for those who still insist on using the smega without thinking who might see it or how it could be perceived by another player. Don't base everything you think about the staff on what you see in the ban appeals, there are many things we don't see from our pov as players.

And uhh... Maybe you shouldn't be more upset about it then the user who got banned over it. But that's just my silly 2 cents.
