What do you think is the actual number of real players?

    I personally think :

    30 ~ 35% = Mules
    10 ~ 15% = Hackers / Bots

    I'm not even surprise if the actual playerbase is less than half of what its shown on the homepage.

    Actually population is quite hard to determinate, theres a coment of matt somewhere saying that, at that exact moment out of 950 players(this is how many players were b4 covid) or around ,there was 750+ pcs working and the rest were multiclients......we can never know how many players use multiple pcs. Hacker matter i would say 5%+ of population are hackers(this is quite a lot 150+ hackers)...and since theres always around 1800-2000(1400-1600 actual acounts) i would say theres at least 2500 actual players....since i doubt everyone logs their 5 clients just to afk in fm 24/7
    So to sum up my guesses are

    3000 acounts
    2500 players(500-700mules)
    150-250 hackers

    We’re talking about the online number on the front page, not the player base as a whole. 1% of 1500 online players = 15, and to have 15 people actively hacking around the clock is quite a lot in my book.

    Only if we had 15 active hackers at a time...

    There are 100+ on average.

    100+ characters are online and hacking around the clock? That seems absurdly high. Not saying it isn’t possible, but it would be extremely concerning as it would indicate a lack of active monitoring by our GMs. I don’t see how we could have 100 people actively hacking with sufficient in-game GM activity/monitoring. Like, when an event is hosted and there are 2 GMS just chilling while hosting it, there are 100 characters hacking in training maps? Definitely not the best prioritization lol. Fuck everything else if 1 in 15 players online are hacking, that’s what really needs to be dealt with before anything.

    Just walk around victoria island and you will see VAC hackers in any kind of map, and usually there are ~5 hackers spread out in the 20 channel. Hell i even see vac hackers in maple island.-.-'

    The idea that there may be 100+ hackers online out of the 1.5-2k player count is just not true.

    As mentioned in the recent GM blog; Even though we lack an autobanner, we do have an effective alerting system in place to catch hackers, although that does mean at this time it requires manual work from GM's to go around and ban them. However, as of recent with the increased staff workforce and improved alerting system, there are now a much smaller amount of hackers around, and nowhere near the 100+ number stated in this thread.

    Additionally, the thought that GM's are hosting GM Events instead of banning hackers is also false, GM's are working hard to keep on top banning hackers while we further work on getting the autoban system in place. And this is possible to be done alongside the hosting of GM Events.
