Trying to build a bowmaster and im at level 31 and everything is on dex. How do I know how much I need on strength if needed? Should I be equipping strength robe gear or? Do I need HP wash or some HP wash? I couldn't find a guide on raising stats. Thank you.
The maximum strength you'll need on a bowmaster is 115, which is the requirement to wield a Dragon Shiner Bow for level 110. If you want to go for that weapon, you can get at least 37 str from just a zakum helmet and horntail necklace. There are plenty of items that give boosts to all stats including medals, rings, and event/end-game earrings. Even more can be gained from just your armor, gloves, and shoes. So assuming you get a good amount of strength from each of those items, you shouldn't need more than 60 base str by the end, but if you don't have enough for a shiner bow, you can always go for the easier-to-obtain Nisrock bow for level 100 that only needs 105 str.
It’s always safe to get around 21-22? Str by putting your Ap into str. Since when you reach lv19x, you’ll max out your base DEX at 999 and have free ap to be pumped into str.
Thank you for this valuable information. Also would I need to HP wash? Not sure if I'm going to be squishy for future boss runs
HP washing is definitely a good option for a bowmaster, since you can do more bosses earlier on. Just remember that in order to get enough MP to use one AP reset per level up, you would need 120 intelligence (1 extra mp per 10 int). Bowmasters get around 20 hp per wash, so they're rather expensive. But, with the hp quests you could get more and more hp each day. I'd probably shoot for a 10k hp goal, since that will allow you to survive horntail's magic attacks. A lot of other bosses, while dealing large amounts of damage, can mostly be out-ranged by hurricane and survived using hyper body from a dark knight/hb mule.
I'll probably do that thank you. Last question, would I aim for strength overall gears since I'll probably cap it at 60 or would I look for higher strengths on gloves, shoes and etc?
It depends what you can afford and if you think you can get the gear necessary to keep base strength low. I would honestly go for as little strength as possible in base stats and use maple weapons until you get a better idea of what kinds of gear can get you to the goal, whether it be 115 or 105 strength.
