Guide to Alternate Zakum Jump Quest

Wao, so glad to see this. I spent 3+ hours failing the jump quest, this alternative is a life saver.

 

I just Jody the YouTube guides to jump quest. Seems much much easier than this

I'm doing this quest now.
Blins took about 2h.
Red drakes 2h.
Plateon 1h.
Ice drake 4.5h.
Iron hog 1.5h.
Mateon 20 minutes. (Concurrent with plateon)
Firebomb 1h.
Mr Anchor 15 minutes.
Drake 2h. (Concurrent with ice drake)

I tried hunting for power crystal ores before, it takes about 2.5h for 10.
hunted 1h at chief grey and 1h for the other rock gave me nothing, you'd rather buy them for 10-15m. Same for crystals 2-5m.

Total time taken approx. 13h, including travel.

It's really long road for farming Flaming feather(approximately 3 night in GS5)
I think 80+priest is suitable for this challenge.

How does a player with his first character let's say level 50 ~ 60 actually complete this? I don't think it's possible.

 

I think it will take very long. Why dont you train till level 80+ before doing so?

 

This was designed to be a "last resort" alternative to the originally intended prequest, so it won't be easy. I suggest to lvl till u get your aoe skill before attempting at say around 80ish.

 

I've finished the alt route yesterday and here's my comments and overall experience with it.
First of all, I want to show my sincerest gratitude for providing this alt route in the first place. I get so much anxiety from games that follow Jump Quest styles that it makes me genuinely not enjoy the experience or reward whatsoever.
For that reason, I've found myself never able to enjoy or even fairly succeed in games like Mario or JQs in Maplestory.

I collected all the items on my own, (including the crystals) and it took me around 17-18 hours to finish everything.
The Red Draco ring took me around 2 hours to drop.

For the most part, I felt like it was only fair for the required material to take a good while.
However, my only comment is regarding the Blin drops and Ice Drake drops.
The issue with these drops is that they lack "consistency".
I had times where 3 drop in one Dragon Roar, and other times where it took me 12 minutes to get the next drop.
This makes it very difficult to wage how "close" or "far" I am from finishing the quest.

For example, when I was collecting etc drops from iron hogs, I would take breaks between each set of 200, almost knowing that each set takes me around 15-20 minutes. It was consistent at that.

Meanwhile, the etc drops from Blins and Red Drakes never had a consistent timing per drop. So I was never able to confidently say "I'll take a break between each (number) which will make me have (x) time to complete."
For this reason, I wish that either the drop rate of these two etcs specifically is increased, or for the number required to become 100.
Please let me know where I can forward this suggestion to who it concerns.

TLDR: This route took me 17-18 hours to finish. Ring dropped after 2 hours. My only suggestion: either make it require only 100 etc drop of Blin/Ice Drake etc, or increase the drop rate to make it more consistent.

I have a question, can I use an account that finished the quest to farm the quest item?

 

The quest is repeatable. I have tried partying to farm and yes I can see the item drop that is killed by a party member.

 

"The jump quest is super easy.. but for those that are extremely frustrated with it - and cannot seem to get it done.. we've come up with a pointlessly long quest with tons of running around - extremely low drop rate special items, and a general attitude of "You should just do the jump quest"

Great alternative quest - would recommend to anyone that wants to quit maplestory.

 

doing those series of missions will feed my list of completions, I say it for my medal: 3

 

OMG, everyone who are doing this to avoid jump quest, i honor you deeply lol.
Because this is 100 times harder than jump quest lol
To my opinion, even hardest in the whole game lol
