cygnus knights, empress blessing, aran, sok, and vicious hammers ruin the nostalgia for me. or and dojo + PB. (level 120 equips also ruin it for me)

it makes plenty of sense. i played 2006-2008 maplestory, then again in 2011-2013.

I think this situation of ours would be closer to a beta test. The server has had its time to find the problems for a better stability. Personally I didn't quit because of boredom, since I didn't reach my goal, but because of the problems that ruined the experience the way I play these games. IMO we should stop looking at the "now" and start looking for the future, for example a year.

 

You are not forced to do any of the new content, other people may, are you saying it ruins the nostalgia for you if other people are enjoying the awesome new content?? you can just stay on skele map with ur bishop till lvl 200 but dont force others to experience the same extremely boring v62 maplestory.

v62 -> v83 does NOT take away any of the 'nostalgic experience'. you can whinge and cry all you want but it just doesent

 

I just dont think you should leave a decision like this in the hands of people like 'Kris' and apparently all the other brainless people.. if you want this server to grow (and not completely die) you are going to have to upgrade to v83, as a alternative you can pack a v62 server with lots of custom content, even though that would defeat the 'nostalgia' purpose as well - and is alot more work.

 

Actually it does for most of the people I have talked to.

That being said, I still advocate v83 now so long as it is truly a better source and most things work like they should and it's better on system resources.

 

Personally I would like to stick to v.62. I do understand that changing to v.83 would fix many problems (ie. quests, PQs, stability, etc.); however, I would want many new features disabled as many people have mentioned before. The biggest turn-off for me regarding v.83 is the addition of new classes (KoC and Aran). When Nexon started implementing all these new classes is when I really started to play less and less. Although I wouldn't mind certain content such as Pink Bean, the DoJo, things like that.

Regarding the wipe/rate change, I welcome it. I know that a large majority of players are going to be upset about this, but it terms of the longevity of the server, I think it is what is needed. Yes, players will constantly come and go as they reach end-game but it doesn't need to come so quickly. To be honest I'm fairly bored with playing this server after a few months, but the community is just so good that I can't leave just yet. I feel that lower rates (4x or 3x [maybe have 2x exp cards as a guil coin reward if 3x]) would extend the life of the server for many players and make quests and PQs actually worthwhile. IMO many people just ignore the presence of the PQs and quests that are working because leveling comes so easy here.

Anyways, that's just my two cents. Either way, I'll be sticking around no matter what happens. My activity level will probably just drop. Ultimately it's up to Matt to decide what's best for the server.

i'll say it once more v62 > v83 does NOT come with game changing/breaking or overpowered patches/content, infact the differences are quite subtile. I rest my case

 

nice response. i didn't whine, i don't have bishop, i've never had a bishop in ANY version of maplestory, what are you even talking about, and what are you basing any of this crap on?

the mere fact that those things will be part of the server ruins the nostalgia for me.

I'm just saying for me personally and a lot of other people....the versions leading up to v83 and onward are when the game stopped being Maplestory for us, and started being something else entirely.

I (and many people I have talked to) really enjoy the original 5 classes and the content that came up to leafre's expansion...possibly up to v72, but anything after that is when it started to change in a direction that I didn't like...and it when I stopped playing because of those changes.

 

Ahh yes ofcourse, but specifically naming things and explaining why you dislike them would be too much ? if you cant follow the simple instructions in my post please refrain from replying at all, thanks

If you wipe/change to v83 do it at the may/june time when people finish for the summer.

Points? i didnt read any actual points, don't tell me 'nostalgia mimimi' is counted as a Point.. as i said like 3times so far, PLEASE DO give me a point to argue on cause so far nobody did.
if this server stays v62 as it seemingly is doing right now I will quit anyways, so im sorry if you got traumatized by my somewhat rude posts but im sure ull get over it.
Do you really expect me to play a v62 server again (Possibly even with lower rates) only to be stuck again at LVL 200 with absolutely NO content?.

I know i can go to the gtop anyday and pick out a v83 server, let me tell you that i already tried it and all of them seem unprofessional wz edited poopy servers.. thats why i want THIS serv to be v83!
