Having reached the dizzy heights of lvl30 I'm wondering where do I get equipment/armour? Shops only seem to sell up to around 30-35, is it drops only after that or are there (game) shops in other areas selling it? I know I can go to player shops in the freemarket but for somebody that started less than a week ago that's quite daunting, not to even mention the prices of things! Also, related question - I restarted my I/L mage as I wanted to go luk-less but found the (game) shops only sell very low level equipment (as in <20) that doesn't require luk - am I missing something?
Hello, If you are going luckless on your mage (recommended) you are stuck using a wooden wand (level 8) and noob gear until you reach around level 35/43 (then u can wear a maple staff (level 35) or maple lama staff (level 43). You can self scroll some single earrings for int (can use 60% earring int scrolls, and buy the earrings in the henesys shops). At level 25 you can get a raggedy cape and scroll that for int. You can also get a spiegelman necklace from carnival pq (which is from lvl 30-50) which gives 1 in all stats being that you will most likely be training here anyhow Once you hit level 50, you can do the zakum prequests and buy a zakum helmet run, and scroll that should give you enough luck (15/15/15/15 is average stats for zakum helm) to wear a doros/doroness (lvl 23 mage overall) As far as weapons go, you are stuck with lama staff which is level 43 until you hit (level 64), at which point you can wear a maple wisdom staff/ maple shine wand. After that you can buy a maple pyrope staff at level 77, which you will be using until you hit level 130, at which point you then purchase the elemental wand for your element (elemental wand 5 is fire, elemental wand 6 Is poison, elemental wand 7 is ice, elemental wand 8 is lightning) (fire/poison mage uses elemental wand 5, and ice mage uses elemental wand 7) Hope this helps you on your journey
Wow, thanks for such a comprehensive and thorough answer! I thought I was missing a shop as all I could use was the wooden wand so I have been putting the minimum into luk to be able to use the wand for that level -as other games I have played tend to need to use level-appropriate gear. I'm having fun though so don't think I'll restart again although my F/P mage and Cleric will both try to go luk-less. Ultimately I'm here to have fun, having loads of mesos or being in the top x of my class is meaningless - I remember playing on GMS and taking things more seriously to the point it almost became a job - and I already have one of those that pays the bills, I don't need another one that doesn't pay!
Yeah, the lukless path is unfortunately rather naked in terms of gear. I would recommend going to Showa and buying a clean bathrobe. It's LVL20+ and gives you 10 speed so even clean it's useful. If you participate in KPQ and kill the slime boss it has a chance of dropping squishy shoes which can have INT and some speed on them.
I went luckless on my F/P, completely unfunded except a couple of WS and a CS back in the day from Gachapon (I'm not a big big player) F/P unfunded easiest for me at least because the training is fast, and you can get OP exp and loot from training on mobs way above your level. I would recommend cleric if you have absolutely NO money (plenty of places for unfunded clerics to train) until you can fund the gear for a lukless mage or something. Hit me up on my profile if you want a Maple Lama Staff and a Maple Staff, I got my old ones that I've out-leveld that I can give you. Thanks! Can I give you anything in return? Although looking at the price of things in the free market I think I would be paying it off for the rest of my life! Money appears to have lost all sense of reality, at lvl36 I have about 8 million but most things I see in the freemarket are 100m+ and it's not uncommon to see things at 500m! Maybe I should hang onto things until I can get a handle on prices and try selling stuff myself
