In order to participate in the fight against Zakum, you are required to do a three-part quest (each giving a different element of what makes up an Eye of Fire). Hopefully this guide can clear up anything you're unsure of.

    [IMG] 'Pre'Pre-Requirements:

    1. Must be at least level 50 to start the pre-quests.
    2. Make your way over to El Nath and speak to your corresponding third job NPC. Click the option that asks for permission to do your Zakum quests.

      [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

      [mage-warrior-thief-bowman-pirate]

    3. You're now ready to make your way towards dead mine!
    4. Take the Danger Zone taxi to Ice Valley II and continue to walk through each map until you've reached the end of dead mine: The Door to Zakum.
    5. For those with VIP/REG teleport rocks, teleport to someone in The Passage and walk through each cave of trial map until you reach The Door to Zakum.
    6. Make a party before speaking to NPC Adobis.

    *NPC Adobis

    [IMG] Part One:

Enter part one by speaking to Adobis with a party of (1-6) players.
Parties of two or more are recommended but, not a must. Doing part one with someone else or a group of friends is significantly quicker in comparison to doing it on your own. Skills such as haste and teleport do not work here.

To obtain the first element of an EoF (Eye of Fire), you are required to obtain seven keys looking like so:[IMG]
You can get these keys by opening chests or rocks.

Here are the rooms and corresponding activator you are required to hit. I've ordered them in the most convenient order possible (closest to spawn, efficient order, least amount of time, etc). It's fine to do it in whatever order you please though!

*In order to gain access to Area 16, you need to go through room 10 or 7 until you reach Area 16.
+Some chests warp you back to the start, this could be both a advantage and disadvantage.

*Area 16's portal warps you back to where Aura is present.

    11-1 (chest)
    9-2 (chest)
    14-1 (chest)
    4-2 (rock)
    16-3 (chest)
    16-2 (chest)
    16-5 (rock)

If you want to hunt for documents in order to get dead mine scrolls, here are those locations also.
    9-1 (Right Sided Rock)
9-2 (Right and Left Sided Rock)
    10-1 (Left Sided Rock)
    10-2 (Left Sided Rock)
    11-1 (Left Sided Rock)
    12-1 (Left Sided Rock)
    1-1 (Left Sided Rock)
    1-2 (Left Sided Rock)
    13-1 (Left Sided Rock)
8-1 ((Left or right Sided Rock)
    2-1 (Left Sided Rock)
    14-1 (Left Sided Rock)
    15-1 (Left Sided Rock)
    7-1 (Left Sided Rock)
    7-2 (Rock)
    3-1 (Left Sided Rock)
    3-2 (Left Sided Rock)
    4-2 (Right Sided Rock)
    5-1 (Left Sided Rock)
    6-1 (Left Sided Rock)
    16-4 (Left Sided Rock)
    16-5 (Left Sided Chest)
    16-6 (Left Sided Rock)
Quest Map[going to assume this is the map you spawn in] (All)
Thanks to Katsuruka for suggesting that I add this!

After collecting all seven keys, head over to 16-5 and there will be a big chest in the middle of the map (as shown above). Drop all seven keys (as a bundle) on top of this chest. You should receive a piece of fire ore. Return to the first map you originally spawned in at the beginning. Talk to Aura, she'll replace your piece of fire ore with a complete fire ore. In addition, she'll warp you back to The Door to Zakum.
+I typically try to find a chest in map 16-5 that'll warp me back to start. If that chest is already gone, time for a slow 20 second(?) walk.

Items you should have at this point:
    x1 Fire Ore [IMG]

    [IMG] Part Two:

Speak to Adobis, again and proceed to part two. The second part of the Zakum pre-quests is a very long linear jump quest which requires 'the player' or in other words you, to reach the end. It consists of two parts involving: miniature statues that spew poison and fireballs, falling rocks, etc. Get from start to finish and you should obtain "Breath of Fire". Skills such as haste and teleport do not work here, either. You should receive the second element: Breath of Fire.

Items you should have at this point:
    x1 Fire Ore [IMG]
    x1 Breath of Fire [IMG]

    [IMG] Part Three:

If you speak to Adobis one last time (obviously picking the third option now), he will tell you to collect 30 Gold 'Teeth' (for the sake of grammar I'm going to say "teeth" instead of "tooth" [IMG]).
These are dropped by Miner Zombies (as seen below), head back to the beginning of dead mine to hunt from those mobs. Otherwise, you can purchase all thirty teeth in the FM for [insert current price here]. Once you've finished, turn in the teeth you've obtained to Adobis.

    Collect x30 Gold Teeth[IMG]

You've completed all your pre-quests for Zakum!

    What you have now:

    • (5) [IMG] Eye of Fire
    • Full access to Zakum twice a day
    Happy Zaking!

*You can repeat just part three to obtain more EoFs once you run out.

*All pre-quests must be done if you are to enter Zakum, not choosing not to complete all three quests (at least once) is considered glitch abuse.

Edited with user submitted suggestions, credit is given where credit is due. <3

    Key:

    * - Make note of

    + - Tip

Made this guide because I honestly couldn't be bothered to google part one anymore. There doesn't seem to be a guide already up so I thought it'd be a nifty idea to post one here on the forums. If there's anything wrong concerning information, please let me know. <3

**pics have been updated as of 7/7/2019, if any of the pictures happen to break from this point forward, they probably won't get fixed (as I am not active on the forums anymore)!

I have a question. How do you know if you have done the Zakum run twice a day, and when does the timer reset until you can do another two runs? What if you keep failing runs and have to repeat them, would you risk breaking the rules by not knowing that you have reached your limit of two Zakum runs per day?

Personally, I know that I usually just rush through stage one. Documents and scrolls I usually just ignore but, I'll add this in for those who don't. [IMG]

You can't go into Zakum after two runs whether or not these two runs were successful. As far as I know, the 'timer' (EDIT: I put quotes around this because it's something you keep track of) should reset at midnight server time; that's how it was in GMS, otherwise it's a full 24-hours.

Zak timer is the full 24 hours here. Unfortunately there's no timer though, you'll have to keep track of it yourself if you do two runs. And the timer starts when you sign up for the run, so if you d/c in the Entrance to Zakum Alter it counts as one run.

I've used that also, just never liked how tiny the pictures/font were, meaning I'd have to scroll up and down to see what I needed. Plus, everything fits on my screen with how it's set up in the guide.

Could I just buy an eye of fire in the FM and not do the quests?

No because you won't even be given the option to go in. You have to beat all the trials in order to even be able to gain access.

Some of the pictures are down. Any idea when you might update them? I'll provide links and pictures if you want.

Actually, you don't need to complete the last part (30 teeths). If you have an Eye of Fire in your inventory, you can enter without problems.

That's a glitch as far as I'm aware, and entering in that manner is technically glitch abuse.

OK, we've now fixed the coding on the prequests so that players need to have completed stage 3 to get into Zakum. No, we're not banning you, it wouldn't be fair to ban you alone for something that a LOT of people have likely been doing for a very long time.

Look up a YouTube video on the jump quest and take your time. Approach it very methodically and you should be a master of it in no time.
