Naively account sharing = perma ban and tarnished reputation
Protecting a sexual harasser = 6 yr veteran admin who we should all trust and defend

This is some twisted fucking logic. This is just one instance that has been brought to light thanks to June's bravery. I can only imagine all the other instances of nepotism that occurred in the past 6 years.

 

I have never doubted Kai's judgment and was incredibly sad to see him resign. He was never granted the ability to call/appeal in private to Tim like Raony did. He was perma-banned, and accepted that. Raony literally sexual harassed a girl, and got to walk away with his friend Tim. We are too occupied with our roles in this game to focus on protecting our community. People literally get banned for *joking* about hacking- but not for an inappropriate comment about a real person in game?

While yes, it is hypocritical of her to behave this way and important to address, I'd say we should not let that undermine the fact that Raony's behavior is still inappropriate and how the staff handled it is also obviously biased.

 

You're missing the whole point of wanting Administration to be impartial because "b-b-but you're bad too"
YYUMMMY, Don, Sharu, and whoever else played an active participant should be banned for harassing your friend.

This 48-hour rule on reporting harassment is the most unexplainable rule ever. This is a clear example of what happens when you legislate for one specific instance without considering the overall effects of the rule you're imposing. But this, of course, could not have been expected to be taken into consideration from a group of admins who blatantly disregard people's rights day by day through ban appeals and targeted bans and don't really care about one of the most important stakeholders of the game: its users.

There are literally tons of feedback threads proposing new rules and that has to go through the most exhausting democratic process ever, where you have conservatives who just don't really seem to empathise with anyone just because they don't suffer the consequences of what is being reported and say the game is just fine. Who justify admins constantly manipulating ban appeals process to make it even harder for someone to defend themselves. The ban appeal that generated all this turmoil is a clear example of how wrong ban appeals are handled in terms of respecting basic rights. As a lawyer, it is the most tilting experience watching how all this goes through.

Then after all that is happening, deciding to coerce others and force them to impose a rule that you didn't take more than 5 minutes to realize it is pretty harmful to victims of sexual harassment just goes to show what is the specific priorities in here. Nepotism/favouritism is one of the most pernicious instances of corruption but corruption has been going all along in how everything is handled in general. What we must understand is that rules are not being imposed to help the players, they are being put in place to simply maintain the status quo of not giving two cents of care for the player's interests.

I would longer expose why imposing a 48-hour rule on harassment cases is really unfair and just looking to preemptively limit reports of conducts that are clearly harmful to the community. But we all know none of our opinions matter. Our opinions were not consulted to impose the rule. They won't matter now.

Well articulated. The admins don't serve your needs. They only move to serve their own. Tim unbanned Raony so he could have his buddy back in the single, most selfish move I've seen in staff. Raony wasn't even banned permanently. He only had to serve a 7 day ban, and Tim didn't even intervene when I asked for feedback on the report. I did not make this decision alone; I asked the staff chat on what their thoughts were and got feedback from the same GMs that said it was okay to unban when Tim threatened to leave otherwise.

 

Why bother arguing with a toxic troll? Just do a quick search in blacklist thread.

because the person DOES feel harassed.
when someone feels harassed the relationship between the two parties is irrelevant.
sure they could have joked around that in the past, but circumstances change.
friends, family members, loved ones all have stepped over the line.
when you step over the line, you have officially stepped into harassment.
