Let's discuss: do you think this deserves an unban?

Here are my thoughts as a 3rd party observer

1. I can't conclude if it was harassment from the in game screenshot. It is possible Raony may have said it joking or flirtatiously, but it was misconstrued (though his words were rather blunt and potentially offensive). However, if there is further context that provides more evidence then perhaps it is harassment.
2. The staff's response seems pretty questionable to this whole situation. Changing rules of harassment over it when one of the Admins is friends with one of the players involved?
3. Discord leads to a difficult question of regulating player behavior. I don't think posting discord screenshots is particularly appropriate for the sake of Royals and the forum. Discord is a 3rd party program and trying to police behavior like harassment there leads to issues. However, stuff like doxxing or RWT definitely crosses a line. I think it'd be cool if the staff made an official position regarding this gray area.

In my own opinion, I think Discord often causes more problems than it helps. It makes people socialize outside of the forums and in game, which makes the server feel more cliquey, less welcoming, and less nostalgic.

 

Do you really need to embarrass yourself? This comment says everything about your character because you know exactly what you did.

rony ends this drama that takes 2 days and accepts your ban, suggest to yourself that they ban you 10 days.

be responsible so that you learn to know your friends well and then ask if you can make jokes or not.

but nevertheless It does not seem fair to me because your friend accepted you just as you are, but do it now and end this drama.

Suggest the autoban for you and pay for your actions. You are creating a lot of hate.

I guess all I have to say is: why overturn the harassment ban, people have been perma'd for less.

 

You posted it on a public chat. There are numerous people who saw it.

If eyewitness evidence counts... I saw the the photo that was posted before it was deleted.

 

The thing that I am upset about is why Raony is being afforded so much more attention into the context of the report than other players who have been banned in the past for harassment? This is a clear show of favoritism by our beloved veteran administrator. This inconsistency in the judicial system is why I am expressing my discontent with the way things are the way this case was handled.

To me, there is no way to take those comments out of context, what's said is said. Had Sharu said something offensive to Raony to prompt him to respond in such manner, he would also be eligible to report her.

The comments he made were disgusting, and he should be serving a 7 day ban.

All this talk about how context will justify Raony's decision to type those words, and Tim's action to unban him (with no legal proceeding) is disturbing.

I don't want Tim to step down, he is the last veteran player on Staff who actually plays the game and knows how end game content affects the economy.

I just want the ban appeal system to be fair, and for Staff to reinstate the ban for misogyny. Anyone else in this position would be forced to serve their ban.

 

Even he get banned because he deserve it, its not gonna end here because through this event i know how an admin can bend the rules as he want, and even want it to be applied immediately, if not he is gonna quit, and his 6 years career here with the staffs as he wont let that happen then bam! New announcements for the rules to fit someone personal benefit .

Those aren't the only courses of action. Staff members could recuse themselves from handling bans of people that they are close with.

 

Just to play devil's advocate, sometimes people say advertently stupid stuff to be try to be funny (see: uwu, abg, daddy, etc.) It's possible Raony meant to be ironical in saying what he did. I'm just saying it's hard to tell without more context.


(here is another example of people saying dumb stuff to be funny. or maybe he is serious LOL)

Raony's comments in the screenshots COULD be along the same lines of intending to be an ironic joke. However, what he said was pretty risky to be saying at all and not a good joke. But, the context does matter. If he said that and Sharon took it offensively and Raony didn't explain himself or say sorry, then yeah.

But it seems there's a lot going on in this dispute so it's hard to jump to a conclusion either way.

Is this some kind of a joke? did this person get a 7 day ban for harassment (which got overtuned 1 hour later), and i got a 1 month ban for joking about hacking in alliance chat between friends? i actually got no words, im shocked

 

All I wanna know after all of this is: what now? How to solve this mess?
