Notice What's New With MapleRoyals?

Dear players,

There has been a LOT of speculation made this past week. Some true, some not. This post is to clarify exactly what IS going to happen to the server, and give some sense of a timeline as to when it will happen.

First, MapleRoyals WILL stay as a v62 server. The idea of a v83 Alpha Test was purely a test, nothing more, nothing less. With that said, the staff has felt that the server would be more enjoyable, competitive, and overall a better experience if the server rates were changed from the current 10/5/3 to a more competitive 4/4/2.

The biggest question, naturally, is why? The staff determined that there was too large of a gap between sets of players, making the server too unfair for new players who came on board after the Gachapon/Gullivera revamp. We decided it would be best to take advantage of the chance to start fresh with nobody having advantages over others with items that were once easily available. In addition, with a server wipe, we believe that there will be less of an issue with leeching.

Another question everyone has been asking is WHEN? And that's a good question. This is the main reason we have not said anything until now. The staff has been working hard on changes that should be made to the server after the wipe to keep with the notion of making MapleRoyals a more competitive server. Naturally, all of these suggestions need to not only be discussed, but actually implemented and tested so that they will work as best as they can before they are "stress tested" by large numbers of players trying them in all different configurations. Here is a current list that, as of this writing, are suggestions that will be implemented post wipe:

NX, Gachapon Tickets and AP resets will only be obtainable from bosses.
Monster spawn rate will be reduced to the normal rate.
The Gullivera Coin trading feature will be removed
A levelling event will be announced in the near future to celebrate the opening of the revamped server.

With that said, we are planning to wipe the server within 48 hours. The server will be shut off, the wipe will commence, and the server will be relaunched where all players will have to create new accounts.

Many of course will ask, "Is there any incentive for those of us who have been on the server pre wipe?" The answer is, yes. For 72 hours after the wipe, Sera will be giving all new characters an untradeable item which the staff will determine.

I'm sure there are many additional questions you may have which I encourage you to ask in this thread and either I or another staff member will answer. But I want to make very clear that the moment the thread loses its civility, it will be closed.

What about the people other than the 5 that didn't hit 200?

 

I guess switching to v83 would be alot of work, fair enough
but creating custom content as a substitute for whats in v83 is going to be alot more work (and will never happen i guess)

I respect ur decision, but i dont think i can play on here. going to lvl all the way to endgame(again) just to kill HT?

You said AP resets will be ONLY available through bosses, does that mean they won't be available via cash shop?

Well that was productive.

 

So we've been hearing a LOT of feedback from people but there's been one thing we have seen almost complete unanimity on. That is the idea that we should NOT remove the Godly Items feature. And you know what, you're right. So we will NOT be removing the Godly Items Feature when the server is wiped. The first post has also been edited to reflect that.
