Hi, First off, I don't mean to be rude. I just want some clarity and some opinions! Today, creampuffs organized a true & false event. The GM stated the following statement: Thief elixirs give +9 accuracy. This is true, the elixir DOES give +9 accuracy. Now if he had stated the question differently, for example: Thief elixirs ONLY give +9 accuracy. Or any different kind of form, the answer would be interpreted differently and would have been false. Screenshots: I think formatting statements correctly is extremely important when doing true&false events to prevent confusion. If we would have been right in this case, there would have been very few people left, and we would have had a good chance of winning the event. Instead we got ignored and the event just continued. Again, I don't try to be disrespectful, I just want some clarity on this subject. I tried contacting the GM personally, but sadly I got no reply. What do you guys think ?
it's a statement that goes both sides really, by saying it's false it can mean 2 things at the same time: ~the item gives 9 accuracy, but it also gives 15 avoidability ~the item does not give 9 accuracy Hence the confusion.
"Thief Elixir gives 9 Accuracy"... Yes... Yes it does. If she said "Thief Elixir only gives 9 Accuracy"... Then no... It doesn't. I really don't see any issue with this whatsoever o_o. And you even said the above in the opening post.
We got kicked out after saying "true" to "Thief Elixir gives 9 accuracy", which is why this post is here.
Gonna be captain obvious here, think you missed it: I read it without the word "only". Kinda sucky how it's clearly true and yet the winner of the event answered false to it.
I meant how i read it, didn't mean it was how the question was written. I Should have used quotation better. But they give 9 accuracy and 15 avoid, so technically it was nothing wrong with the question. Also imo i think if you word it with a "only" it would make me hesitate and possibly make it easier, well for me it would be easier. It's just a event to have fun and of course you wanna win.
Again, i'm not trying to spoil any fun. All i am saying is that, the way the statement should have been interpeted doesn't make it it any less "true". I wanted to doublecheck if we made a mistake, or if we were in fact right. Which in this case means that such a statement should have been more detailed and clear. Also imagining "and" behind a full stop in a statement doesn't really work.
Okay well you didn't mention that before, so yeah the correct answer should have been true in my opinion.
I would like to apologize for the confusion and although there's nothing that I can do to fix that mistake in this point in time, I'll make sure to be more specific in the future.
