Sorry i was so unclear. I downloaded the Windows XP and WMware separately. When i try to open the "setup.exe" file from the windows XP iso file that i downloaded, i have compatibility issues. Since i cant download the setup.exe from the windows XP iso download, the WMware player doesnt work when i try to load the Windows XP iso file
Alright just to be sure at your current step you should only be having 2 files, a VMware Player and a Windows XP iso. you do not have to mount your iso on your PC to get some sort of setup.exe. When you create a new virtual machine VMware asks for your .iso file so there are no .exe files involved related to Windows XP. Perhaps looking at this image from the original post might help you:
Hey, I got this error "Failed in finding proper screen mode for Gr2D" I tryed to increase my hardware acceleration and run the setup, but nothing worked.
Make sure you have VMware tools installed as mentioned in: http://royals.ms/forum/threads/how-...s-closing-your-client.16643/page-2#post-97156
Thanks for the guide, Tim. I'm not sure if you mentioned this, but you can run MapleRoyals as if it were a third client if you put MapleRoyals in windows mode and click the Unify button on the VMWare's tool bar. That way, you don't have to press Alt+Ctrl to go back to your main PC.
Thanks for that, I never really looked into VMware beyond getting it to work with royals so I was still pressing ctrl + alt every time. Yes you can. I usually use VMware for my SI mule at Zakum and I don't even have to change my picture quality (GFX) on it. It doesn't dc.
That's nothing I can help you with, try again later. Perhaps click the 'Install Tools' button below your windows start bar instead or google your problem.
Alright. I tried clicking there as well but I got the same popup. I've googled some but I keep getting told to click to install it inside VMware like I just did. I guess I'll just keep trying.
Okay. So I managed to install VMware tools after all. I had to download it seperately instead of it automatically installing. Now there's another issue. I start up maple and the music starts playing, but the screen remains totally white in game. Edit: I forgot to set compatability settings inside VMware to Win 98/ME. Works now!
So would you say that the problem was running parallels off windows7? I tried HT my first time today using parallels(on Mac) and I usually use windows 7 to Zak. If you know a good .iso for Windows XP Id be more than thankful if you could pm me a link of file
Would the VM improve stability while using a Nvidia Graphics Card? - The reason I'm asking is because my desktop uses an AMD FX-8350 processor (w/o graphics).
Since a friend of mine also had the issue with update servers for VMware tools working I'm posting the download link for the latest version of VMware tools here. https://packages.vmware.com/tools/esx/latest/windows/index.htm Download and install the x86 version inside your Windows XP.
The reason for some, if not most of us to use VMware is so we can avoid using our Nvidia GFX cards. By setting up a VMware machine with this guide you essentially do the same thing your computer (Processor) is doing, running all GPU processes on CPU. You're most likely already running on the most stable setup you possibly can.
