Speaking of rwt investigation, i know of other servers that have drop trade logs while we require one admin to look at someone’s inventory, when they acquire items, and made a judgement decision on if they rwted or not.
I found this thread under "accepted" (feedback). I feel as if it has some relevance today still. (it's from 2018) https://royals.ms/forum/threads/this-is-why-people-are-quitting-and-how-the-gms-can-fix-it.119901/ -- if anyone is interested / curious To give an idea of what the thread talks about.
Good post and link. I think on their point 1, that you quoted, I've always thought something like town monster raids would be really fun, and could involve the whole server. Make teleport rocks to x town unusable during a raid, and no cabs run during it. Handicapping damage from 4th job skills and high level range or att buffs, but skills still work as intended, but no mage ultis, too destructive for the town Rewards could be anything, exp based on your level, so it's always worth something, medals, nx, mount covers, current event item bundles, etc
It could be like that, or the protect the mount quest, aliens fly in lol, or protect tylus, the game already has the mechanics in place for it. And if players fail, it could give dailar relevance for repair donations (meso sink) Nx cosmetic/cover stuff doesn't do anything, so it's a harmless but fun reward, and by event item bundles I mean how like during Xmas event for example, bosses can drop small bundles of multiple snow in one stack, I don't mean 100% event scrolls Anyway just a fun server event idea, like RR or athletics JQ. Would be fun
One of the thing that discourage players in private server are UNJUST BAN. I mean look at this thread https://royals.ms/forum/threads/ban-appolz.190120/ What an average or new player would think? GM ban a veteran player without provide any concrete evidence, and ask the player to prove they are innocent. How can they provide evidence? It is not their duty to ss every trade and remember every ign they deal with, most people can't even remember their gf/bf or parents' birthday. You can make every excuse to legalize the ban, like "like we have evidences but chose to hide it so hackers/rwt won't aware of it". People still see it as an UNJUST ban and assume you did it out of spite agaisnt the player or simply sinking the currency. Shane-former GM if I remember correctly- even said it out loud in shout box: This is private server, GM can ban anyone if they feel like it. Seeing the items list, I'm pretty sure I can archieve the same in 3 years by just selling leech 2 hours +bossing and voting daily, which also my long term goal. Now it all seem a waste of time when GM can ban me in the end if they "feel like it" I can't stress enough how important for GM to provide evidences when issue a ban. I have play multiple private servers (MS and other games) and experience many GMs banning players for personal reason. In one server people caught red hand a GM log in player account to fake an evidences when players pressure him to provide it. For now I completely lost my trust in this server and uninstalled the game. Maybe you don't care but I just want to give a feed back why I chose to do that.
Who twist here? Why don't you SS the part where you said "this is a private server, if you want fair go to GMS"
Maybe you should actually read things before making wild accusations. That wasn't me. Either way, this is not the place for this type of discussion, so I'm not going to respond again.
Ok I apologize about that. I still stand firm on my point that GM should provide concrete evidence when issue a ban no matter your reason is.
1. if you think you can achieve that in 3 years with 2 hours of leeching I really don't know what to say to you except run the math again or learn the market prices. 2. as someone who submitted some difficult RWT reports in the past, I know how hard it is to get a person banned, the evidence needs to be there and sometimes that's not even enough. 3. lots of RWT bans that made sense were successfully appealed in the past, all he needs is the patience to prove his innocence and facts to back it up (assuming he's not RWTing) I don't know why THAT is what made you lose trust in the server out of everything else, thats just weird to me?
2 hours of skele leech give me 320-350m, bossing give around 100m+ HS farming give me 100m+ Total is 500m. I can earn more than that if have more time, plus voting and lucky drop(perf king cent or RC). A year have 365 days, 3 years is 1095 days, that is 547.5b plus voting and lucky drop. I don't know how you enjoy game, I want to set a goal everyday and if i can't reach it, I will compensate when I'm free. I don't know how hard it is to find evidences. Refuse to show them mean you have zero reason to justify the ban. Their current action is "We suspect you are guilty, prove your innocent". Guess who else did that? puritans, slave owners, dictators.... Sorry, I can only trust a system where "innocent until proven guilty".
If you question why the judge don't provide evidence when pledge people guilty, become judge yourself.
The issue that I have with this server's handling of ban appeals is that the reason why you've been banned is typically not stated until way too late into the conversation, it sometimes takes 5-10+ messages back & forth before the accused even knows why they're banned. You can't defend yourself if you don't know what you're accused of. Lack of showing evidence doesn't really inspire confidence in the process, but I can overlook it to an extent when it comes to RWT, but other sorts of bans I find the lack of evidence shown iffy, especially when that evidence is basically required to make some sort of defense.
Would like to clarify why evidence isn't shown in Ban Appeals often (very rare will show) 1) to protect the reporter's identity 2) to prevent the abusers from knowing what was reported e.g The type of hacks used, or the RWT trade was caught in-game, or other platforms such as Discord In the situation where the players do insist they are innocent, Staff do check the evidence again to double confirm no wrong bans was issued There have been quite a few cases of "I wasn't hacking", but the solid evidence suggests otherwise We cannot reveal the evidence as the hackers have always been actively discussing on their platforms about what hacks are detectable, and what places are reported more often
When I joined the server, I invited two friends to join with me. Today, I'm the only one who's still playing due to the HP washing barrier. Neither one of them wanted to level a mage up in order to fund their DPS characters, but both of them did, and got too bored of playing a mage to keep going. They haven't successfully funded a DPS character before they quit.
Just curious, can I check what's the progress on the tools needed to tackle RWT effectively? I hope it's still not the same old technique... since 2017 (or earlier?)
