Context: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/should-mapleroyals-consider-adding-a-second-world.68404/ A thread from middle 2016 that shows many facts in pro for this, specially for a second world with essencial changes compared to old one. I think that with the current player base we're having at the moment, this would contribute for the server to grow even further. Also, it may be a possible solution for those people that doesn't enjoy that much the mule/multiclient meta and would like to have a more Classic MS experience. How fun could this be? everybody racing all the way up to the highest levels, a new ranking, being in a scratch server is one of the best experiences that i've had regarding Maplestory. Of course, as Matt stated in the old thread, there is no point on making an identical second world, so there's some suggestions from me that imo could be work - Disable MP grow attached to INT points for any class that is not a magician. + Make non linear adjustments to base HP for some classes, in a way that you get a slight boost in early levels but gets higher in the late game. - Disable leech from characters in your party that has more than 20 levels than you. + Boost party experience - Multiclient not allowed + Incentivate people to make more than one character in the same account on this world I think that this new server should be harder in other instances. Not sure if rates could stay the same if so. Feel free to reply on what are your thoughts on this and/or leave more suggestions regarding this. Good day
Splitting the playerbase is one of the major reasons that caused a recently closed private server, croosade to self destruct. I don’t think this will be a good idea.
It wasn't the "splitting playerbase" as you call it near the main reason why they shutdown, tho is true that they had some problems with the community, they implemented changes that were (generally) not good accepted by them. Perhaps, is not the case here, the discussion regard some people not feeling ok with how is the game in the late game has been around for a while now.
The server is adjusting itself to shrink this early - midend game bridge for quite abit now, and majority of the concerns have already been answered such as the washing issues. Yet starting a brand new world would only to mean veterans with vast knowledge of the most efficient single client farming methods & meta that are not publicly shared to easily have wayyy more advantage. I don’t even want to go into details about how hackers which still openly multiclient via vmware will be racing down maple island griefing the new economy.
Actually the great thing about this is that knowing all the possible issues before the release, can help developers to make the fair adjustments in order to avoid those kind of advantages (if they have the same thoughts as you). All of these is possible because you don't have to please people for making changes regard that or any other because, is a new server, so no one is getting affected. About the last thing you said, one can easily argue the hacking issue as something that could affect basically any implement into the game. We just need to get a way to deal with this, but that's a different topic.
