HH Spawn Rate Question

Hi all,

Is there a single HH spawn per channel, or one in each of its possible map locations? It would seem unreasonable for there only to be 20 HHs for the entire server to share.

 

There's 1 HH per map per channel. So one channel may have several HH, all in their respective maps.

When I was hunting HH on my shad early on, I would pick a map and check all 20 channels, then I would change to a different map.

 

Okay thanks! And if the timer is up, do you just need to kill any mob and then the HH will spawn in place of the other mobs with that mob’s respawn timer? So for instance, if an HH timer is ready in hallowed grounds, I just need to kill a single jr wraith then wait about 5s for the HH to spawn?

 

Yup sounds about right. When you cc, you're going to want to kill a mob spawn to check if HH spawns (if you don't see one immediately.) Some maps are difficult to do this in, like Crossroads where you'd need to be lucky to have phantom trees on the bottom.

 

Gotcha. One more question: is there a hard reset on the HH timer during the daily server reset (8 pm EST), or does it carry through?

So some information here is mixed and confusing so I just want to clarify as best I can.

Royals has a system in place, where the area boss respawn timer is +/- 20%
-Headless Horseman’s respawn timer (in Royals at least) is 6 hours. So 20% of 6 hours = 72 minutes. This means that HH can spawn anywhere from 72 minutes PRIOR to the average 6 hour respawn timer, OR it can spawn up to 72 minutes AFTER. This +/- 20% applies to all area bosses.

If a server check or a maintenance occurs, once the server is back online, all of the area bosses spawn. The server “reset” (23:59 server time to 00:00 server time) does NOT reset their timers.

 

Let’s say the server check is every night at 8 pm EST and I kill an HH at 7:30 pm. Will another respawn in 30 minutes instead of 6 hours?

 

A headless horseman would spawn once the server check ended (server goes from offline back to online)

Server checks and maintenances don’t happen daily. When either of them occur, it means the server is offline (nobody can log in). This typically happens for content updates/changes.
