Maybe MoN could be removed and instead there's a unique one-of-a-kind ring instead. Seeing as there is a few unused slots there. Not saying it has to be godly or anything either. 1-2 attack and magic attack with 2-3 in each stat would make the ring good enough to get most people interested (No godly item system to avoid insane attack rings). That way HTP wouldn't become obsolete and there would still be incentive for players to CWKPQ. Regarding what players who already got their item would do the PQ for it would be for the bonus stage rewards. You could get Tao's, 4 att capes and some other interesting stuff in old maple IIRC.
I don't how see how getting new content is not part of the nostalgia... Unless you specifically played 1 version of GMS, of course. I believe Matt hinted (I might be wrong) somewhere that Pink Bean would eventually come. Therefore, out of the other two options, I'd choose CWKPQ. Hopefully, the corridors before the entrance will have awesome spawn as they were pretty good for training.
lets agree to disagree EDIT: Just editing to prevent misunderstanding. The whole 3rd job of the pirate is bugged for like what, months now? The OP has said it himself - these, I don't know... projects (?) will be hard to code. I don't know about you but I don't want them to work around the clock trying to add and fix major projects when there are bugged classes out there. I really don't mind new content, if anything, it's important, but not in this kind of scale. I hope you understand now where I'm coming from.
Yeah I understand you and I totally agree that bug fixes should take first priority. I just felt that bug fixes is another discussion.
I support all three of these options, but if my opinion means anything here it is: For CWKPQ, although this has already been mentioned I think MoN needs to be removed/replaced with another item or heavily nerfed. It outclasses egged HTP by a lot, except for mages. For LHC, the xp needs to be nerfed heavily in order to make it similar or even equal to skeles/ToT training in order to not make the real v.0.62 content useless.
Can someone explain to me why is v62 considered the most "Nostalgic"? If someone came from MSEA, JMS, or KMS he would have nostalgia for other things. I think as long as it's not a game breaking and it's before BB it should be fair game. It would be cool for this server to have LHC, CWKPQ, Pink Bean, etc. Part of the Nostalgia of Maple was the addition of new things. Don't you guys remember when Orbis, Ludibrium or Omega Sector was first opened? There's no need to add them all at the same time, just little by little like the old days.
These are very good points everyone! I'm happy to hear that you guys love the ideas. Thank you for the support!!
Out of all of them, I think LHC would be the best addition. CWKPQ has high requirements (2 of each class), and people will get their MoN they will never touch the PQ again unless it's to help a friend. Pink Bean would be fun, but like others have said in the PB thread. It requires loads of HP washing, very high range, and perfect runs with no deaths (no wheel of destiny). LHC would continue to be used by everyone as a training spot. It's not a one-time thing like CWKPQ, and it won't have insane requirements like Pink Bean. So that's why my vote 100% goes to LHC. I'm really tired of seeing people whining about nostalgia and using it as an argument. As was already said in this thread, Maplestory was never stuck on one version forever. They continued to release content just like every successful MMO in existence. If Royals never added new features or updates like other servers do, then it would lose a lot of players. Change can be good..
It's not like these three are the only things that could be added to the game... I would much rather see Kaede Castle and fixed PQs than something from post Big-Bang like LHC. We do market ourselves as nostalgic, so we can at least make an effort to keep the contents of the game as old-school as possible.
Yeah I have to agree that fixing bugs should take priority over new content. Like Gags said, pirates are still bugged and I think they should have been fixed long ago.
