True gamers may remember seeing some odd helmets floating around Hidden Street way back. There were three variants of the Zakum Helmets: Turns out, Zakum Helmet (2) was a variant dropped by Zakum in JMS in the 2006 era. It could be upgraded to Zakum Helmet (3) by talking to Tsuri in Showa Town, and killing Maladys and Wild Kargos to complete a quest. You can see this in the video below:
Funny thing about this is that in GlobalMS's Showa revamp back in March 2021, Nexon accidentally unblocked this quest and enabled Zakum to start dropping Zakum Helmet (2). However, Tsuri wasn't enabled to send players to the map with the special Maladies and Wild Kargos, so the quest was unable to be completed. I reported it a while back and it was eventually fixed, but I made sure to snag a Zakum Helmet (2) before then. https://forums.maplestory.nexon.net/discussion/30519/zakum-helmet-2-and-tsuris-zakum-helmet-quest
Watching the video makes me wanna do a physical attack mage for the fun of it, not gonna lie, but thanks for providing a new information! I always wondered how do you get the hats and I always thought it depends on luck when you were hunting for Zakum, but here it is!
So here's a fun tidbit, Showa's maps in MapleSEA as of today have a daylight background instead of the usual sunset background. Spoiler
When starting the game, you get a glimpse of what the book cover looks like before it got covered by the world select menu, so here's a picture of it- 4 boxes on the left side has the emblem of the Warriors, Bowman, Magician and Thief, and the 4 boxes on the right side has the picture of a Snail, Orange Mushroom, Slime and Ribbon Pig. The center of the cover has an image of 4 Adventurer on a boat trying to defeat the Balrog.
Not related to Maplestory 1, but here's one of the early leak of Maplestory 2 that was circling around on 2011 or 2012- For comparison, this is what final version of Maplestory 2 look like
Did you know you can click on the NPC image on the quest menu? And by doing so, it will open the World Map menu and will show you where to find the NPC?
A list of Maplestory juniors and their seniors counterpart, this list only includes monsters that has "Jr." suffix on them and any mob like Shroom > Orange Mushroom or anything similar will not be included. > Jr. Boogie > Boogie (Boogie can only be found and spawned by Zakum.) > Jr. Sentinel > Sentinel > Jr. Wraith > Wraith > / > Jr. Cactus > Cactus / Royal Cactus > Deo > Jr. Yeti > Yeti > Dark Jr. Yeti > Dark Yeti > > Jr. Pepe > Scuba Pepe > Pepe (Scuba Pepe is slightly bigger than Jr. Pepe so it's logical that they might grow up as Scuba Pepe first.) > / Jr. Seal > Sparker / Freezer > Jr. Cellion > Cellion > Jr. Lionel > Lionel > Jr. Grupin > Grupin (For whatever reason it is, they went from purple to blue and can be found at... Garden of Green?) > Jr. Lucida > Lucida > Jr. Newtie > Nest Golem (The nest is not Jr. Newtie's senior variant, actually.) > Jr. MV > MV > Jr. Balrog > Crimson Balrog (They could grow up as the boss Balrog or maybe die as a Crimson Balrog and become a Geist Balrog, which means ghost or spirit.) > / Jr. Cerebes > Bain / Cerebes (For whatever reason according to Monster Book, Jr. Cerebes is Bain's baby, not Cerebes'.) > Jr. Gargoyle > Gargoyle (They've become tired, so they need to rest I suppose.) And what you guys been waiting all this time... > / Jr. Necki > Red Flower Serpent / Blue Flower Serpent (Due to contrary belief, Jr. Necki is in fact, not a worm and is actually a snake. And the proofs that Flower Serpents is actually an adult Necki is the ETC they dropped is called Necki Flower and Necki Swimming Cap.)
In Dragon Forest I, II, III and The Hidden Dragon Tomb I, II there is a stone that will glow. If you stand there while it is glowing, you will gain 1000 HP every 4 seconds:3 The stone will glow for 2 minutes, after the end, the next light-emitting time is 30 minutes, you can understand it as glowing once every 32 minutes. And all ch and the above maps are synchronized. Location Spoiler: Dragon Forest I Spoiler: Dragon Forest II Spoiler: Dragon Forest III Spoiler: The Hidden Dragon Tomb I Spoiler: The Hidden Dragon Tomb II When glowing Spoiler: Found out it At first I always thought that luminescence is related to ht Until I ran a lot of ht and recorded it, after observation, it was found that there was no...... pfpfpfpfpfpfpfp~~
I'm actually kinda running out of contents for this thread, but here's a random stuff! Did you know that the Goblins in Korean Folk Town shares the same dying sound as the Zombies in Doom 1&2? Here's the Doom 1&2 clip, for reference, at 10 second mark. The fun thing is, it's actually a camel sound, so that's 2-in-1 fact for you today!
Something random but, I just wanted to show the new MSEA blob monster to everyone for no reason. Crow Slime, which is just a Batoo reskin that emerges from Black Egg and replaces Dukus at Destroyed Park 2 in MSEA. Plastic Bottle Snorkeler, Can Diver and Plastic Surfer, appears on MSEA's Christmas event where you need to do some surfing to keep the sea clean. Do hit these slimy slimes off the sea. White Dolphin, Baby Octopus and Sea Turtle, appears on MSEA's Christmas event where you need to do some surfing to keep the sea clean. Do not hit these endangered creatures off the sea. Spoiler: The surfing minigame Pretty boring minigame, to be honest. Quick Slime, a speedy little slime on a scooter that appears on MSEA's Christmas event where you need to protect a Giant Land Turtle. Big Oly Oly, brother of the Oly Oly with a bigger tire, tire-lessly rolling the tire. No pressure. Appears on MSEA's Christmas event where you need to protect a Giant Land Turtle. Black Slime Boss, it's black, it's slimy and it's bossy. Definitely looks like it belongs to Ulu City. Protect the Giant Land Turtle from this meanie or it's game over. Giant Land Turtle, what can be said about it? Appears on MSEA's Christmas event where you need to protect it from bunch of dirty polluted slimes.
More of a speculation for this one, but have you ever wondered what's the purpose of these platforms on Orbis Station? One could simply say that it's just there to decorate the station for the sake of it, but I'm sure many people know about this knowledge already that the platform actually has a foothold placed on it, meaning you could stand and walk on it as shown on this image below. From this image, we also know that the first two platform actually had a hidden portal placed on them (and no, the portal doesn't work) and for what reason? Where would the portal bring you if Nexon actually made it work? Well... ...judging from the details of the portal here, Nexon probably had the idea to use these platforms such as... A) by placing portals on the platform that brings you to your destination's Station Tunnel, which is probably Nexon's intended purpose in the first place as I have shown above (but there is no way for you to go on the platform) or... B) by placing each continents NPC crew instead, which makes more sense seeing how the platform was placed on the station. As I have said, this one is purely just guessing game and all, so do let me know what you think about this one.
Mu Lung's Wild Bear Area 1 map, There is a stone chair that. If Peach is dropped on it, will get Tae Roon's Note. .............................................................
