If you're running Windows 8 / 8.1 / 10 - You may see this message "error code : -2147024809 (The parameter is incorrect.)" when you attempt to start up Maple Royals. Here's a simple tutorial of how to fix it. [Quickfix] - Change your compatibility settings to "Windows 98 / Windows Me" Guide for Dummies: How to set-up your Maple Royals Client 1. Go into your Maple Royals Folder - Right click MapleRoyals.exe - Click "Properties" 2. Go to the "Compatibility" tab - Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" - Click on the drop down menu and select "Windows 98 / Windows Me" - Check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" - Check "Run this program as an administrator" - Click "Apply" and then click "OK" That's all you need to do. If you follow these steps correctly, then Maple Royals should start up 100% of the time without giving you the "parameter is incorrect" issue. <3 [Warning] Do not use while Bossing Win98 / Windows Me appears to have compatibility issues while bossing (Ex: Automatically Closing Client) Recommended: Change compatibility to Windows 7 for the best performance. We need to find a multi client fix that doesn't involve a virtual machine I've been trying out stuff with no luck but i'm going to keep looking for alternative ways to do this.

Please provide your feedback, it would help out a ton! So far I've had two bad encounters. One was at the slime boss - when I crashed and re-logged, I lost my guild, everyone on my buddy list, and my skill bar configuration was reset. The second was at Zak - I disconnected before killing the arms, which does not happen on a regular basis.
DC'd entering the zakum altar...I'm not sure if it was because of the compatibility settings or just another issue. I have noticed it's a bit more "choppy" on these settings though. Also I'm not sure if you guys already know this but with this parameter error if you keep trying on normal windows 8 compatibility it will eventually get you into the game which may be worth doing if you plan on bossing.
I dc from times to times at zakum, just get a black screen random and the client closes- JUst did a z-run no problems went back in and upon summoning zakum i dc. Windows 8.1 comp settings: windows 98
I'm using w8.1 with w7 compatibility setting. All zakums, krexels and basically everything been just fine. Not a single disconnect that my PC had caused. I do not even GFX
I can't multi client using virtual machine too! You can try creating a profile and copy a mapleroyals file into it. You can multi client by switching users,altho my windows crashes in the middle of switching sometimes.. for me at least.

I just want to add you should never do Windows 98/me on a non Windows 8 and above system (not that you want to) because that is actually worse I've noticed. Example, Fraps become really slow and delays every action, possible other things. However, for Window 8 and above I've only find it fix the Parameter is incorrect error, and do nothing more. Why Windows 98/me fixes it? I have no idea. I never researched what even is the difference.
I think it's because the client is very outdated. So when using it with updated compatibility settings, the client probably doesn't synchronize with it very well. Thanks for providing the feedback, if you have anything else to add, please feel free to post additional information.
On Windows 8 I noticed no in game difference between Windows 98/ME and any other compatibility mode whether bossing or not. Fraps also never gave me any issues in any of the compatibility modes.
I've found that TeamViewer is causing this too, even with compatibility mode set on windows 7 I get this error, but when I exit TeamViewer it just fixes the problem
