Spots are free for all. The moment you close down your store, the spot is no longer yours and up for anyone to take, even if it may seem slightly rude if you made it clear your friend is about to open his/her own store at your spot. It's only bannable and blacklist-worthy if the other person got the spot by botting, but we would need some kind of evidence in that case.
The reason why most people won't camp is that we all know that if this behavior becomes routine, the game will no longer be playful—— it becomes a camp war, some people rob, some people resist. I think the meaning of politeness is to avoid unnecessary disputes, and obvisly ,that botak was the one wont be nice. Of course, this behavior wasnt deserve banning, and thats why i put that in here instead of report area——guys, be careful of this guy,he will rob you.
Blacklist rule #1: Don't be a dick If someone sees you are going to reopen store , follows you and stands next to you spamming his store to steal your spot as soon as you close yours How is this not a dick move? Happened to me once and I was so pissed But in Royals this is not Blacklist worthy so I guess Ill just look for someone else trying to reopen their store, steal it and ruined his/her day.
that's the problem:I regard this post as a place to tell others some behavior not worth being banned but disgusting. However, the lowest limit of this post wasn't obvious to me
As much as it’s annoying as hell if someone “steals” your spot when you’re resetting - I think it’s important to understand that once you close your store down, it’s not technically yours anymore and there’s nothing to be “stolen”. Personally, I’d never take that time nor effort to camp someone for god knows how long just for an FM spot when you could just buy one (with the added bonus of not pissing anyone off), I also think the free-for-all aspect of resetting an FM store is part of what makes the competitive Free Market competitive. If you could consider a different perspective - someone could claim, by you hogging a spot for yourself/friends and claiming it’s yours even when it’s not after 24 hours or you close your shop, that you in fact are the dick. I’m not saying this is true, but trying to show that who the “dick” is dependent on who is painting the picture and their bias. All I can really say is, you have to be really careful when resetting shops/giving spots to friends, especially in 1-1. So if someone jacks “your” spot when you’re not being careful nor fast enough - don’t be salty, move on, and be faster/more careful next time.
You are the quintessential child. Something bad happened to you, and you recognize that it was wrong. Instead of going "oh, that wasn't good. I'm not going to do that to someone else"... you want to do the exact opposite. I look forward to the next person coming here after you steal their spot, posting to complain about you. The server would be better if the average age were higher.
I guess I have to explain myself.... I'm aware spot stealing is very debatable whether is blacklist worthy or not This is my opinion and I know many will differ: If you steal someone else spot right in front of them, you are aware your action will upset the other guy. To me someone that goes around upsetting people is not a nice person and to me that's Blacklist worthy. Now to @skyb if I'm in favor of spot stealing being Blacklist worthy then I would never do it back to someone else. I was being sarcastic....
Kethoe appealed in a PM to have his mule removed from the list with some valid points as to why. First time offenders may also appeal to be removed either way, so I decided to remove ABBrew. Also, I would like to hear more opinions on the matter of spot stealing since it appears to be sorta mixed perspectives on that topic.
Actually, I think it's hard to judge the evidence of who was the owner of spot when a dispute rises. And it’s the reason why camping wasn't on the forbidden list.cuz there will be mass banappeal or wrangling posted if GM do so. But it doesn't mean the camper was on the right side. So I just treat them similar to scammer, bullies or other nuisance in game.
For the record, I previously did not accept "spot stealing" as a blacklistable offense. This is exactly how the Free Market was intended to operate--like a free market where people compete to gain an economic edge. There can be no dispute over the "owner" of a spot because you cannot own a spot. If you are selling or gifting a spot, you should be aware of the inherent risks that come with it given how this system operates. It would be a different story if a player was intentionally and repeatedly going out of their way to target another player's store, but that has never been the case from what I have seen throughout the years. Otherwise, players need to understand that this is simply just the nature of the Free Market. It's not personal, and it's not anyone being a dick. The unfortunate truth is that just because something pisses you off doesn't mean that it's wrong.
in fact the someone reply above use to jump to me when im reseting my shop, surely they wasn't camping someone, cuz camper just camp every spot they found, once they find you trying to reset shop, they will come for you.
This is also so important. I would like to encourage players to remember that the Community Blacklist is honestly not the place for us to hash out personal drama. Doing so not only makes the life of the manager much more difficult than it has to be, but it actually dilutes the meaning and impact of the blacklist when we allow it to be used as a social weapon. This is a bit tangential, but I've seen way too many instances of players threatening others with the blacklist the moment a minor dispute arises. And unfortunately, this type of behavior defeats the whole point of the blacklist. Please try to make a good faith effort to resolve such disputes like the mature and reasonable people that all of you are, and please keep in mind that not everything has to even be a dispute in the first place.
This is a game for players to compete their wealth. Your spot worth money, and I wouldn't expect people would just sit and watch potential income or benefit slip away before their eyes. It does suck, but wealth is the core element of Maple.
1. IGN: SkinnyPie 2. REASON: Died twice during LHC Bearwolves party and decided to rage quit. 3. DETAILS: We had 27 minutes left on the timer and Skinny decided to rage quit after dying twice. Getting sick and tired of people leaving mid run and leaving the rest of us to find someone for a partial run.
1. IGN: SCORPIOKOS, xKosx 2. REASON: Borrow perfect sleeve and didn't want to return it 3. DETAILS: I've been friends and guildies with Kos for around June/July time last year and we played together a lot so I borrow my claw (perfect sleeve) sometime early this year around January/February time to him to help him out with bossing on his NL. Fast forward to March and April I tried to contact him for the claw and he just makes excuses about his maple not working. I've given him benefit of the doubt for quite a while and now it's September time and there's no reply from him at all and he's just ghosting me and ghosting his in real life cousin (xModifiedx) who was very helpful in trying to help me get the claw back. Also shout out to ChaosDunk for helping me aswell to get the claw back. Evidence: (The sleeve) (our conversation about the claw on discord) (him in April saying he gives me claw back) (our last conversation back in April when he tried to install maple and says it's not working) (the final conversation and he ghosts me afterwards)
ogei...So...what if I do the samething to the camper..like that↓ Will that behavior makes me became *i*k or makes my shop like↓ or not -.=||| If not, i think it will a good way to counter them instead of just being upset and walking away
