It may not be on a level to compete with the top classes in boss speeds or other things like that, but that doesn't mean that it's so low the game can't be enjoyed. If you're one of those that play solely for the damage, avoid them. If you're someone who plays for a good time and finds that the way the Paladin works to be your favorite, then play it and have fun. Not everything has to be about being strong
Just for those wondering and gm's contemplating a few things here are possible through wz edits, like changing damage, but I'm sure through the xml files you can do the same thing so that way no one has to download some wz files. I think that's a good idea to up some of the damage on the different classes, maybe we won't have 50+ mages anymore. I'm actually going to start looking into how this could be made possible, I see a lot of tutorials on rage zone
I played a paladin (ign Kharkhorin) and a MM (ign rachelegreene) from beta to v100 and reached level 183 and 164 in GMS I love both those class, But it sucks dealing shit damage knowing a simple change in threaten (page skill) from -20 def to -20%def would help paladins become useful in parties. There is a reason Hero didn't revive any buffs because they are IMBA in v62. And Michael you play a fighter why are you so against these class changes not like it will affect you in any way. While this minor buff will give players who actually struggle with a underpowered class a reason to go past level 120. In the higher levels -20 def is literally 80 more damage threaten skill becomes useless
I think it is cute that u think thats the case... Im specially thinking about the dps diff between NL and MM, they have a huge diff and MM is not the better one not even close ....
I agree that there needs to be more class diversity but we don't even know for sure if changing skill tables is something that can be done easily or is worth it... I've never heard of any any server that did this tbh..but then again I don't have too much knowledge of these things. I do the see why this should be done though. Classes like Paladins, Archmages, and Marksmen are extremely rare because they are overshadowed by other jobs. If this is possible and easy to do, then I think it's worth it.
Because I have a fighter character means I don't play anything else? It means I don't have another character that I've played for several hours just because I have one at 38? That's kinda silly. I'm arguing because I joined this server under the premise that I'd be able to play good old Maplestory V0.62 and "FEEL THE NOSTALGIA." My nostalgia, however, does not include those buffs. If I wanted that nostalgia, I would have jumped on a V83 server. You've raised very good points about the buffs being needed and bringing those classes into more popularity to even everything out. However, you've completely ignored every time I've brought up that this is a V62 server, and that that is clearly trying to push updates of V83 onto it, kinda ruining the entire slogan of the server (See top of the forum's page). I didn't join a V62 server because I thought the balance was perfect. I joined it because I remember what V62 was like and I loved it. I remember V83 and yet, when given the choice, I chose V62 over V83.
well we already buffed marksman snipe from 99k damage to 199k damage so you might as well quit since its not the "nostalgia" your looking for
I've already quit my bandit. It was hard enough to play my old shadower with my "OP" items, and to think of trying to re-create them on this "new" server is cringe worthy. Any to-be shadower should have fun looking forward to bombing their way to 200. Yes, we're all DPS whores. That's the name of the game: to be the best. Believe me, if everyone treated me the way that you have ever since I differed from your opinion, I would have quit within my first day on this server. I've stated my point to what I believe to be quite beyond fully, and this decision really is up to the staff from this point unless somebody else wishes to interject with something more.
Personally I prefer the Bstep+Bot/SB Combos of building up mesos then booming everything with OP Meso Explosion while FJing around-gameplay of a Shadower, but that's after Big Bang. v62 for a Shadower is all about using combos and become really skilled at it. v86 is about spamming Bstep+BoT/SB. v62 for a Paladin is to be entirely useless. Someone has to draw the shortest straw, don't they? My opinion: v62 is v62... is v62.
