So i've been in and out of the game and ill have times when im fully locked in, and ill have times when I can care less. Having a guild to play with makes things easier. But how do you guys get back into the grind of going back to boss and etc. Would love to hear your thoughts.
Yeah I tend to play really hard for 1-2 months and then stop for a year. Been doing that for like 7 years now. Although, I do find that making a new character is what gets me back into things.
well, this is such an interesting thread to be honest. how do i get motivation? i just always have something to do or focus on. but there's generally the fact i really like the gameplay mechanics and the gameplay style. its 2d in anime style, and as a kid i grew up on tv anime series. i started playing maple story in 2007 in the Bera server, and i always came back even when i thought i never would. i'd say its the addiction, but not just addiction. its side -scrolling, i always enjoyed platform games because they're simple to understand. another thing that motivates me to continue to play is the progress ive already made. i know its not as big of an achievement as other players, but simply reaching level 120 for me was a big achievement. the progress ive made reminds me i accomplished so much and gives motivation to play. so thats another source of motivation.
I think you have to consider why are you playing Royals rather than anything else? Royals Pros & Cons Pros: Socializing Nostalgic game Reliable server saves your achievements for a long time Nearly unlimited sense of progression due to the gear treadmill Less stressful than other games Very low specs can run in windowed mode even on laptops without GPUs Cons: Gameplay is extremely dull and easy Some people in the past here take this game too seriously and are too competitive/toxic With that in mind, you might set some specific goals such as getting to level 200, making mules, or achieving certain gear (e.g. perfect weapon, 60+ att gear, 87 stat auf helm). In the past in 2016-2017 I think a lot of players looked forward to big updates and the sense of the unknown for what the future of Royals could hold in terms of class balance, end game content, etc. But, most of that stuff has been added now except perhaps only Pink Bean so there's less stuff to look forward to. I think a good question would be why are you playing Royals specifically compared to other games on the market such as Valorant, LoL, WoW, OSRS, various games of Steam, soon to be Battlefield 2042, PS5, Xbox Series X, etc. Look for what you like about Royals compared to those other options and maybe maximize that aspect. For me the biggest pros are the fact that the server is reliable to save your achievements, it's low spec, and it's relatively chill and social compared to a lot of other games. I've played almost every game out there before.
well about royals, there are a few advantages actually. first of all its the biggest pre-bb server at the moment. that means, you have always alot of players to play with and you never feel "alone" like i sometimes felt on post-bb official server. there's encouragement to do things together. but on official post-bb maple, they have about 40 or 50 classes and you can solo most bosses and enter alone, which encourages solo gameplay, which to me is a bad habit. on royals you can buy megaphones in FM for 2mil each, while many other pre-bb private servers keep it NX only and make NX harder to get. the fact you can buy them for only 2mil each makes it accessible for all kinds of players and easier to recruit or look for something. on royals they added a few new towns and content that expands upon the traditional things you do on pre-bb.
The I totally cant find motivation to play back this game....Old school maple doesn't suit ppl with work because the pace of old school maple is too slow...We barely have time for gaming.
As mentioned aboveā¦ new goals!! Whether that is leveling a character or working towards upgrading gear! I found that instead of getting discouraged from dry runs at bosses, I focus on the positives like getting exp
Hi there folks. Playing games is just a part of our life. Personally, I play when I want to play. I can't make myself do things I don't want to do. Actually, playing games is my hobby. It's just the way I spend my leisure time. That's why I don't need to make myself play games. Actually, we talked about it with my friend from https://zumroad.com/game. And, you know, we've concluded that playing games shouldn't be your only way to spend your free time. I mean, you should give yourself some time to miss playing, a kind of dopamine detox. That's the key. So, let's keep it updated. BW
It's all about the nostalgia and time with the community. I look at this game like a good relic, you polish it off every year and examine it for a good month or two and then say you're done. But for some? It's a full-time love-interest. This game's sound-track, original design and community is what brings most.
Play counterstrike go(old school) Dota 2 (more than 10 years playing including the original dota) Maplestory 2 (this game wasted my time and dedication) The maplestory of nexon (unfortunately I lost my count many years) Especially latin people (south america) socialize and look for their maplera girlfriend
I decided to try maplestory again for nostalgia and this was the top server right now. Honestly I do not feel a ton of nostalgia. Not many people talking or being social. Also The main reason I quit private servers was classes having no meaning because of hp washing and found out the core issue of increasing a characters hp is still present. I also think the main thing I loved about maplestory was people spent time on just one character.
