HP Gain Make HP washing optional, not mandatory

    Hi,
    The main problems with HP washing is:
    • It's expensive - not everyone can afford int items / pay for leech to do it.
    • Not everyone knows about it - at least not when they just starting, most of us never reached high lvls on GMS to know HP is a problem, or that HP washing is even a thing.
    I've reached lvl 96 before I even knew about it, and at this point it's 86 levels too late to start.
    Even if someone knows about it, he will have to start an account to gain money and then start a new account to get HP washing from the start.
    So it's a beginner barrier.

    My Suggestion:
    Make HP washing optional, a "rich treat" if you'd like, so everyone should have enough base HP to sustain a PB hit (I assume he's the hardest hitter).
    And HB / HP washing will be a bonus for better survivability, but it won't be mandatory.
    Just like you can heal with potions and without bishop, or you can do fine without 10 w.att gloves / shoes if you don't want to focus about making money / best DPS.

    Make High HP be a bonus, not a mandatory thing to challenge bosses.

    Ideas to Implement:
    • Give an option to get HP trough tedious missions - those who have the cash won't need to do those.
    • Another option is giving "1 hit protection" item / buff, so HP won't be able to go below 1 in single hit, so then those who didn't do HP wash could activate this buff before bosses.
    It will be expensive, risky and tedious but it will give them the option - make more of these is what I am saying.

    There's already a couple of "alternative" ways to gain enough hp to be able to do lots of bosses (even ht as a range class without hb, which is 9.6k). the 2 main quests are fountain of youth (level 70+?) and Search for the elixir of life (120+ or somewhere around that). The second one is repeatable as many time as you want until you reach 9.6k hp CLEAN. Even after that, you can still do that quest once a day.

    EDIT: i'm NOT saying this is the best option tho. You'll to spend hours and hours on the same questline to even see a minor difference to your maxHP. but it's better than nothing, right?

    It….it’s optional ~f6 PB is not out (yet), how much hp are you suggesting? As far as I know, toad is the only boss that requires washing

    HP washing is not really optional if you want 9.8k HP for HT, 12.5k for Shao, 18k for Toad, however much for Auf, however much for Bodyguard A, etc. If you don't HP wash nobody will take you seriously lol.

    But that's one reason it's nice classes like Warrior, Bucc exist cuz they can wash for a lot cheaper to get the same hp.

    I'm a firm believer in HP washing slowing the progression of the game keeping people pushing for new horizons constantly and fueling the economy with int gear and aprs. But in terms of keeping new players interested and getting more people to play other classes besides mage and dark knight I think mild hp tweaks would be nice. I like the previously suggested 5hp per token of teamwork totally ~240 a day of you grinded every pq every day which would boost co op play with various level players. Or increasing base hp for classes so classes can (barely) survive 1 hit 10 levels after xp @ bosses. Such as range at 165 should be at ~9.6k natural. This would make casual players still able to enjoy the content without forcing every party to have HB while still leaving room for washing for those who like tanking 3 hits while they fall asleep at bosses

    The problem about HP washing is not the funding it takes. It’s a way to invest into your character just like upgrading gear or upgrading skills e.g. MW20.

    The problem is that our newcomers need that money and knowledge right when they start (int gear + mostly leech as 350 INT NLs are useless for grinding/PQing). This hurts the early game. If they didn’t plan their characters ahead they are hard to fix just by the 2 HP Quest (atleast for high hp goals Toad/Auf Haven/PB?) because they won’t have MP to convert to HP.

    An endgame option to get extra MP could be a good fix for that. People could start any char without HP washing knowledge or funding and gather their Money for APRs on the grind to the endgame (175+?). At this point they would do this new task to raise their MP pool and convert it to HP.

    Of course a new way to gain a nice amount of hp would be more than welcome! To me, being able to get around 11k hp by level 170ish without washing would be a reasonable option. 11k is pretty much the hp you'd need for all bosses WITH hb (auf/toad is a lil less than 17k btw). Search for the elixir is a really nice upgrade. Is it enough to be considered an hp alternative? No. Is it worth it? Meh...
    Getting 15hp (10-20) everytime you complete a 30minutes quest seems a little low honestly.
    @Begi came out with a good idea tho. Actually, being able to trade tokens of teamwork for hp sounds a really good idea. That way, people would spend more time pqing with others making the game way more interactive which would add a nostalgic feel to the game. We play maple for fun, hp washing is obviously not :-/

    From recent discussions it is clear that the Staff do not want to provide too many alternatives to gain hp as that would affect the pricing of APRs and as thats mainly how newcomers get income, it should stay that way.

    However, I suggest allowing lvl200s gain mp by going bossing. Thanks Zancks I dk if you read what I said about this in buddy chat or you thought about the same concept but great minds think alike.

    1) Provides an incentive for lv200s to go bossing as we all know dry runs would mean lv200s lose money going bossing considering that they dont gain any exp.

    2) Allows committed players who messed up their accounts when they joined the server to still have an option of clearing end game content.

    3) Does not affect the income of low levels negatively. If anything, it would lead to an increase in price of APRs albeit a small scale.

    Things to consider:

    i. Should this be awarded per boss or just once per day?

    ii. How much mp should be awarded?

    iii. What is the cap mp that can be gained?

    iv. Should mages be allowed to access this?

    v. Should this only be available to lv200s? I personally think it should only be available to lvl200s because people are going to be bossing daily anyway from lvl135 onwards so it would not be considered a grind. It would just be an added bonus. This hp alternative should be a grind for players who have reached a milestone and need something to work towards. It would also not deter newcomers who realised that they messed up their account when they worked so hard to get to lvl 7x-9x. Carry on fellow Jedi for there is still hope for you at the end of the tunnel. Dont remake your favourite char or worse still make a mage to sell leech.

    Difference between this and the current elixer of life quest? It provides players with some form of fun in the grind and thus a less painful experience. I kid you not, thats actually the original purpose of what a game is made for.

    The idea of giving hp through tokens of teamwork was good too. If it gave mp instead it would be a solid point. However, PQs are available at considerably low levels and we all pq at low levels when we just started anyway. That would mean APR prices would get affected since the amount of washing required could fall drastically.

    Elixer of life quest sucks.

    Of course if its too much work the Staff could just give us all 11k hp naturally by lvl 200 because why not.

    Actually Horntail/Shao requires washing for classes like BM too.

    I have all possible hp eqs, three pets with 150-180hp pet eq each, washed all my excess mp from 200levels (1.2k hp, 90-95 APRs), master collector medal (500hp), did ellinia hp quest, did elixer of life hp quest to gain approx 1.3k-1.5k hp and golden leaf pendant which adds 250hp and i only have 10k+ hp as a lv200 bm.

    If I did not wash the excess mp I would only have low 9k and mass sed at ht would kill me all the time. And that is after the hundreds if not thousands of hours I spent getting equips like ellin ring, ellin earrings, black belt, mon, blackfist cloak, golden leaf pendant, master collector medal, doing hp quest 65-100 times), doing the triple pet quest, scrolling pet eqs with hp.. the list goes on. I would still die in ht without washing.

    Sure its on me for only doing the elixer of life quest until im 8k+ clean hp but lets ask ourselves honestly, who would do the elixer of life quest 100+ times to get less than 2k-3k hp) when they could spend less than half the time remaking a char with Int to get a 18k hp potential char) The latter solution doesnt even involve crying.

    For the avoidance of doubt, I only did the elixer of life quest because I am a stubborn guy who refused to remake a char when I was told at lvl 73 that hp washing was necessary. I was not told at beginner island and I refuse to believe it was my fault. Why should I have to pay for a mistake that wasnt mine lol.

    Also, I wanted to prove to those people who pq-ed with me and laughed at me for
    not going to be able to horntail. Fk those guys.

    Pretty weird Im a lvl200 bm who cant tank 1 hit from an old monk even with all the stuff I said above.

    HP wash is definitely not fully optional (especially for some jobs and for content like other said shao,auf,toad,dunas v1...)
    there is still need for improve, hopefully with more HP methods or nx covers like the recent event pendant
    i don't i think i would have seen shao on my sair without legendary medal update (1k hp)

    but i can also disagree that HP wash is expensive (yes 17k+ HP before 200lvl is expensive but at that point is just luxury and optional)
    when you compare with methods to fix your HP to 17k as unwashed at 200lvl and time needed on top of that vs leeching yourself on new char with a litle bit of int+ int gear while farming at good maps and makeing good income and exp you'll remake and start wash

    am at 12.4k~ on my 200lvl sair as "unwashed" (obviously i washed the min MP to HP that comes along the lvls )
    i got like 95% of the HP methods in royals done so far
    that 5%~ left i got is:
    • - pet hp eqp geting perfect +350hp (but geting them perfect or more then 120-140hp x3 is crazy idea especially now that pet eqp is not tradeable and you need to farm own nx for them might aswell save for APR's then playing with 10% or 30% for 50hp or make perfect weapon if you are so lucky with scrolls over 7 slot pet eqp)
    • - squiz min-max a litle more HP from gear like bfc,mon,elin ear,rudolph nose... (good luck with this )
    • - daily HP quest 40min/quest-day farm (am slowly doing this but is very slow road to 17k and discouraging when i see the meta of mules/multiattackers and alot of rwtr that shake the market like crazy )
    i don't think is worth doing it over washing new char ( unless you got good untradeable and quests and don't want redo them all over your option is quit or this exhausting "5%" methods)
    in other hand this "5%" methods kinda push me to play more,explore and stay away from crazy FM & rwtrs so ehh idk ~f12

    Token of Teamwork --> HP

    I hope the Devs can implement this

    But generally, I think the easier solution is to fix the game meta to be more inclusive of other "low dps" classes. Im pretty sure Nexon gave DKs Hyper Body for a reason. A party buff that boosts HP.

    @Saledor 's BM is a good example. He seemed to invest a shit ton of time and effort in the game, yet not enough to meet the game meta's minimum requirement. This is honestly the reason new players don't wanna start a character in royals.

    If the game's meta instead, is a given to invite a DK (just like it is a given to invite a SE), then a lot of these HP problems will be solved.
    Not a 100% solve, but made the problem much smaller than it currently is.
    Again take Saledor's BM as an example, if HB is a given in all boss teams, he would be around 16k HP with HB, which is pretty close for toad.

    Reading some of the comments above, I agree the requirement to wash since lv10 is damaging the gameplay. "Everyone" pumps INT at low level, then who is going to atk for low level contents? Everyone goes for leech, then nobody even plays the low lv content.

    I'm curious of the impression this gives new players trying out the server. If I was just starting out and saw zero people at low-level PQs, I would feel like the server's "dead" and move onto the next server on GTOP (to see if its better). This is why I support the idea of giving alternative ways to gain HP/MP from tokens of teamwork to encourage more people to be participating at low-level PQs.

    I agree with that. I know it's a bit off-topic, but yeah, being able to trade PQ tokens for a 5hp bonus sounds like a solution to HP washing. That would bring back more nostalgic feeling to Royals, plus making the game more fun to play at low level ( where is the fun when most of the people pay for leech, or leech themselves ? )

    Just one thing, by the way. What about higher level, if Royals releases that tradable PQ token for HP ? I mean, would this be too late to get tokens because of the level limit ?!

    I know there are PQ without level limit. As far as I know, there is atleast Ludi PQ, Amoria PQ and Kerning PQ who can be done at any level. But, for example, what about Pirate PQ ?

    If that token exchange for HP update comes out someday, I think that it would be cool to remove the lvl limit of all the PQs at the same time, so the higher level can benefit that new feature too.

    Fair point, they shouldn't force those high levels to recreate.
    I think high levels can get the similar token from high level team play contents.
    The easier solution will be bossing, though I remember reading somewhere, maybe in one of the comment here that it will be broken if everyone bosses and gets HP.

    I'd say stuff that high level goes with a party. For example:
    LHC grinding (token drop rate has to be low enough)
    Mu Lung Dojo (only obtain token if you clear ALL stages, which most likely needs a team)

    Otherwise, simply buff Reull's elixir quest to give more HP than 10. Its simply not worth doing it in the long run.
    Maybe calibrate it such that, you need to do it 365 times to increase max HP by 10k
    in other words:
    current rate:
    every 8 days: 6*10+2*20 = 100HP/8days <==>10000HP/800days
    I don't think anyone has the perseverance to do this quest everyday for 2 years+ just for 10k HP

    extra maxHP gains with tokens of teamwork by doing party quests.

    buff Reuel's maxHP rewards thus making it somewhat bearable to grind.

    Pqs don't have level limit anymore and pqs have been nerfed so you can't use skills passed a certain point (kpq 2nd job only etc)

    Didn't royals try something like that for paladins

    I think people are sidestepping the issue when they say, "Washing is optional/HB is required instead." It means if pb were released today, washing and HB are both not optional.
    I've done Reuels HP quest almost every single day for ~3k HP and have 3.2k in HP gears. I've never finished an Auf run nor do I meet the requirement to even purchase the service. At this rate, I have 3 more months of questing before I even want to attempt it again (considering it's once a day and others would like to finish).
