A covid journey?

Hi everyone, as I think that some of you all might already know I had been confirmed as covid positive. To keep myself to release all the stressfulness and worries, I decided to share my daily conditions of staying quarantine covid center for this coming 10 days at this thread. (maybe lesser than that depends on my situation)

How do I get covid?

I got it from my mother as she also positive since last week, and slowly found out that I had minor symptoms too after few days. Well I guess it is quite lucky that my symptoms are just having flu, cough and sore throat. Without fever and difficult breathing, at very first I thought I will be quarantined at home, however the quarantine center PIC had called and informed me that I had to stay in the quarantine center for maximum 10 days depends on my situation.

And yea it is a MUST to stay there for the doctors to monitor my health conditions because they classify me as high risk patient due to my body condition.

I was very unacceptable when I know that I had to go to quarantine center where I think that I’m totally fine right beside the minor symptoms. I was very unhappy, worried and scared to go to the strange places to stay where I couldn’t make a choice of that. Although how unwillingness am I, I convinced myself , calm myself down, then started to pack my belongings for staying at the center on up coming 10 days.

Day-1 28/09
The KKM(shortform of Malaysia government healthcare’s department) van arrived to my house at around 12.30pm. I brought my luggage to the van and the driver brought me to the covid center as it doesn’t allow us to go ourself. After all the fetching of others patients. Finally, I had arrived to the center at around 4pm and there’s a reception for us to check in and get room numbers.

After I had done with my registration, I visited the room that I had to stay in coming 10 days. It is a big room that’s fit 7 people in a same times where my bed is located at most left.

I had sanitized all around the bed and started to place my blanket and bolster on it.



Everything is fine for me besides there is no any air conditioner at the room and it is hot af during this big hot sunny day especially in Malaysia

Currently I am waiting my dinner meal to come and I will keep update the thread here as I can.

hey Yen, glad to hear you're feeling fine and you're getting the attention you deserve.

pardon my curiousity, is that place and service public for everyone? or are you paying for it similar to a clinic?

 

Hi Javier~ If not mistaken, the place and service is public for all Malaysian citizens, and yea it is free. But the environment is humid during night time where i found it difficulty to sleep.

 

ohhh I see. in my humble opinion that's a fantastic place for a public service so I think that regardless of humidity or awkwardness, you're in the right place with space and people taking care of you!! just be patient and you'll be home in no time :~) ♥

 

Day 1 - half day

At around 430pm, the nurse was coming to our dorm and gave us some simple check up on blood pressure, heartbeat rate and also oximeter. As I am the new comer, I also received a pink bracelet where I had to wear it until finished the quarantine.

Well, here is the oximeter reading that I had and the pink bracelet as well!



After the checking process was done, the place prepared dinner for every patient here and I was super hungry, can't wait for eating it!

It is a pack of curry chicken, fried mix vegetables with rice. It taste not bad but I wonder that can covid patient actually ate spicy food?

After I had done with my dinner, I went to bath and ate some flu medicine before I sleep. However, maybe it was still unfamiliar and strange to the environment, I couldn’t sleep well on the first night. I was keep sleep and awake, sleep and awake for few times. Finally able to sleep at around 3am and never wake up until the next day morning.

Day-2 29/9
I woke up at around 9am. After I had wash my face and brushed teeth, I got my breakfast of today.

It is a fried noodles with some egg toppings. and yea it is spicy as well.

Then, I went to bath to wash all my sweats that I had yesterday night. As you know Malaysia weather is so damn hot and it makes me sweat all the time without a/c.

After bath, I took a little time to video calls with my family and friends to update them about my condition. I also contacted my fellow royals friends @Spenzer and @KDT through video call to show them a tour of my room and place.

At around 11am, the nurse come again and took the same check up as I did yesterday.

After the check up done, the worker in quarantine center sent lunch to us and it was kinda look delicious with the fried chicken


After finished my lunch, I decided to watch some Netflix and luckily I brought my laptop to the center so I able to log in Royals for some times.

At around 5pm, there will be having second check up but they did not assess on the young adult. They are come for the senior citizen only where they are old and needed to be more concern with their health status.

and ya its dinner time after the check up!

Thats all for today I guess~ well as last night I am having a serious flu and took the flu medicine given by nurse, and I felt much better for today besides having some tingling in my ear. I hope I can recover as soon as possible and don't have to stay here for 10 days

Started to lost smell since yesterday..

 

wow no kidding. im unvax. & I stand by my decision personally! (not saying people shouldn't get vaccinated) but that is crazy.. may I ask what other symptoms you have currently?

 

At very first, I got a little sore throat n coughing and it remains for 3-4 days. After that, the sorethroat was recovered and I started to have serious kind of flu for about 2 days and it recover last night, but in the same time i found out i lost my smell too yesterday..
