Ok, I have been playing for awhile now on Royals, and I do have a question? I remember going through Shanks (Do not see anything in the forum Terms and Conditions for the game) and him mentioning that being AFK (You however have to respond back within a few seconds notice!) is not allowed. How Severe is this offense, like what is the points on my record will this apply? I see things in the forums like you can be AFK in FM, and other things? Can you please clarify this for me, I wish to follow the rules.

    Thank You!

Hello, there is no rule against being AFK. The rule regarding responding to players is related to botting. As per the Game Terms & Conditions:
Usually this will result in a 14-day ban for the first infraction, but may result in a permanent ban if the infraction is deemed serious enough. Please refer to the Terms & Conditions linked above for more detailed information. Hope this answers your question!

    Hey Sen,

Thank you for your clarification. Makes a bit more sense. So, "player report in which a player is being prompted numerous times without a response over a long period of time may be considered sufficient evidence for consequences under this rule at the discretion of Staff". So just don't afk, from users/moderators? Or put in a situation where you might miss a conversation, or it could be reported?

Also, just a suggestion(ik, wrong section lol): Shouldn't this be under the Game Terms and conditions? I think it would be good to have this explained in detail comparatively to what shank said beforehand. One of my friends quit on the spot because "I can get banned, just for being afk (15 days -> Perm)". This clarification could be beneficial to all new users! That's just my two cents, about being afk.

    Thanks Again for the Clarification,

    ZachoZeon

The rule, for Robotic Play, reads as follows:
This rule isn't necessarily about when you're AFK, but it's moreso about when you're actively playing the game in suspicious ways. Generally, this rule is intended to refer to players during training. For example, we apply this rule to infract players who place an object on their keyboard to train their characters without requiring any manual effort. As the name of the rule suggests, we don't want players using programs or other devices to assist their gameplay--as if they were robots. That's why we suggest that players be willing and able to respond to others during training, so that you do not come across as suspicious in this way. I hope this helps clears things up. That said, I will also forward this to Staff to see whether we can clarify the exact wording of this rule. Thank you for bringing it to our attention!

This part of the reply is not about game's rules and conditions, but more of the interactions between players.

When AFK in MSRoyals, do not assume your character to be 100% safe from death especially out there in the hunting field. In maps where monsters can be spawned (naturally or monster sack), players might lure monster your way for their own amusement. Unless it's evidently proven to be targeted character assassination via multiple monster sack harassments, usually no actions will be taken by staffs. So, AFK at your own risk outside of FM or Lounge maps.

Yes, afk at your own risk

    Mwahahahaha!

On topic: if you’re afk doing nothing, you are safe. If you are afk and doing something, even as simple as f2ing in fm forever, you are considered botting if you don’t reply when approached.

Thanks ImVeryJelly! I think that really simplified that up for me.

Shanks:" I can play and watch TV at the same time." (limited options for the multiple choice beginner quest)

    The Gist:
-You can be AFK but you have to be doing nothing. (Even Watch TV)
-If you are doing something, the same thing continuously, and do not respond when approached, by someone. It is considered Botting/Robotic Play.
-At that point you can get in trouble. (15 day ban -> permanent ban) aka, AFK at your own risk. (especially in a monster field)

I spent a good chunk of my time grinding on MS-Global (Pre-big bang), as a Hermit, pressing the same buttons, marcoing, and staying for hours in just to get 10% a day at fog. Optimizing my keystrokes, and getting in the zone. Getting my eyes red playing so late, I guess I was a real “Hermit”, and tend to zone out playing for hours :D. Robotic Play and AFK rules, do make me feel concerned as to what I need to be doing to be doing the right thing!

    Thanks everyone, for your clarifications!

I believe watching TV/youtube is OK while training/playing etc. as long as you're semi-focused enough to respond to anyone that prompts you in-game.

Also just to be clear, macroing (i.e. binding 1 key to multiple outputs) is not allowed in any form in royals.
