Posting this by the request of @Hampa Hey guys. A bit earlier me and a few guildmates were arguing over which was the superior weapon for a Hero. The general consensus seem to be that Stonetooth is the best one out of them all at end game levels, but is that really the case? I decided to do some calculations to find out.. Note: • I'll be comparing damage on 3 different attack potions • The calculations are done under the assumption that it is a level 200 Hero with end-game gear. Results may vary depending on funds/level Calculations: Spoiler ST User: Helmet: 20 STR, 35 DEX Eye acc: 5 DEX Face acc: 7 STR, 7 DEX Earring: 15 DEX Necklace: 25 STR, 25 DEX Top: 25 STR, 5 DEX Bottoms: 22 DEX Cape: 15 ATT Shoes: 15 ATT Gloves: 22 ATT Stonetooth: 145 ATT, 21 STR Krexel Ring: 5 STR, 5 DEX 2 Carat Ring: 3 STR, 3 DEX, 1 ATT ------------------------------------------------------------------ Base STR (After MW20) 1018 * 1.1 = 1119 (Rounded down from 1119.8) Base DEX (After MW20) 4 ------------------------------------------------------------------ Total STR: 1225 Total DEX: 122 Total (Clean) ATT: 198 ------------------------------------------------------------------ (1225 * 4.6) + 122 = 5757 5757/100 = 57.57 ------------------------------------------------------------------ Heartstopper: 57.57 * 258 (Total attack) = 14853 (rounded down) 14853 * 1.04 (Echo) = 15447 15447 * 5.2 (Brandish) * 1.9 (Advanced Combo Attack) * 0.8 (Mastery) = 122 093 122 093/0.69 = 176 946 Damage per second 122 093/0.63 = 193 798 Damage per second on SI ------------------------------------------------------------------ Apple: 57.57 * 298 (Total attack) = 17155 (rounded down) 17155 * 1.04 (Echo) = 17841 17841 * 5.2 (Brandish) * 1.9 (Advanced Combo Attack) * 0.8 (Mastery) = 141 015 141 015/0.69 = 204 369 Damage per second 141 015/0.63 = 223 833 Damage per second on SI ------------------------------------------------------------------ Energizer: 57.57 * 223 (Total attack) = 12838 12838 * 1.04 (Echo) = 13351 13351 * 5.2 (Brandish) * 1.9 (Advanced Combo Attack) * 0.8 (Mastery) = 105 526 105 526/0.69 = 152 936 Damage per second 105 526/0.63 = 167 501 Damage per second on SI RK User: Helmet: 20 STR, 35 DEX Eye acc: 5 DEX Face acc: 7 STR, 7 DEX Earring: 15 DEX Necklace: 25 STR, 25 DEX Overall: 40 STR, 5 dex Cape: 15 ATT Shoes: 15 ATT Gloves: 22 ATT Red Katana: 127 ATT, 21 STR Maple Shield: 30 ATT, 20 STR Krexel Ring: 5 STR, 5 DEX 2 Carat Ring: 3 STR, 3 DEX, 1 ATT ------------------------------------------------------------------ Base STR (After MW20) 1018 * 1.1 = 1119 (Rounded down from 1119.8) Base DEX (After MW20) 4 ------------------------------------------------------------------ Total STR: 1260 Total DEX: 104 Total (Clean) ATT: 210 ------------------------------------------------------------------ (1260 * 4) + 104 = 5144 5144/100 = 51.44 ------------------------------------------------------------------ Heartstopper: 51.44 * 270 (Total attack) = 13888 (rounded down) 13888 * 1.04 (Echo) = 14443 14443 * 5.2 (Brandish) * 1.9 (Advanced Combo Attack) * 0.8 (Mastery) = 114 157 114 157/0.63 = 181 201 Damage per second ------------------------------------------------------------------ Apple: 51.44 * 310 (Total attack) = 15946 (rounded down) 15946 * 1.04 (Echo) = 16583 16583 * 5.2 (Brandish) * 1.9 (Advanced Combo Attack) * 0.8 (Mastery) = 131 072 131 072/0.63 = 208 050 Damage Per Second ------------------------------------------------------------------- Energizer: 51.44 * 235 (Total attack) = 12088 12088 * 1.04 (Echo) = 12571 12573 * 5.2 (Brandish) * 1.9 (Advanced Combo Attack) * 0.8 (Mastery) = 99 361 99 361/0.63 = 157 715 Damage per second -------------------------------------------------------------------- Carabella (1h) User: Helmet: 20 STR, 35 DEX Eye acc: 5 DEX Face acc: 7 STR, 7 DEX Earring: 15 DEX Necklace: 25 STR, 25 DEX Overall: 40 STR, 5 dex Cape: 15 ATT Shoes: 15 ATT Gloves: 22 ATT Dragon Carabella: 147 ATT, 21 STR Maple Shield: 30 ATT, 20 STR Krexel Ring: 5 STR, 5 DEX 2 Carat Ring: 3 STR, 3 DEX, 1 ATT ------------------------------------------------------------------ Base STR (After MW20) 1018 * 1.1 = 1119 (Rounded down from 1119.8) Base DEX (After MW20) 4 ------------------------------------------------------------------ Total STR: 1260 Total DEX: 104 Total (Clean) ATT: 230 ------------------------------------------------------------------ (1260 * 4) + 104 = 5144 5144/100 = 51.44 ------------------------------------------------------------------ Heartstopper: 51,44 * 290 (Total attack) = 14917 (rounded down) 14917 * 1,04 (Echo) = 15513 15513 * 5.2 (Brandish) * 1.9 (Advanced Combo Attack) * 0.8 (Mastery) = 122 614 122 614/0.69 = 177 701 Damage Per Second 122 614/0.63 = 194 625 Damage Per Second on SI ------------------------------------------------------------------ Apple: 51.44 * 330 (Total attack) = 16975 (Rounded down) 16975 * 1.04 (Echo) = 17654 17654 * 5.2 (Brandish) * 1.9 (Advanced Combo Attack) * 0.8 (Mastery) = 139 537 139 537/0.69 = 202 227 Damage Per Second 139 537/0.63 = 221 487 Damage per second on SI ------------------------------------------------------------------ Energizer: 51,44 * 255 (Total attack) = 13117 13117 * 1.04 (Echo) = 13641 13641 * 5.2 (Brandish) * 1.9 (Advanced Combo Attack) * 0.8 (Mastery) = 107 818 107 818/0.69 = 156 257 Damage per second 107 818/0.63 = 171 139 Damage per second on SI Results without Speed Infusion: Spoiler On Onyx Apple: 1. one other thing, you gave both classes a very bad krex ring and most top tier ST heroes have a str bottoms while still having a 4 dex base. also, for the RK hero if you're gunna be op you'll most likely have a 60 str overall cus itll be perfected
Perhaps a few things here and there can be improved, but that goes for both builds. I didn't calculate absolute perfect items but rather a very well funded hero.
Thanks for the in depth information about Hero weapons! In my opinion, if anyone was serious about a Hero to the point of getting perfect weapons, making a Speed Infusion mule would be a must have. From the looks of things if Speed Infusion was taken into account, a perfect Stonetooth would be quite a bit better than all the reasonable option (i.e. no perfect shield).
Yes, if Speed Infusion is taken into account then Stonetooth will be the highest DPS on Onyx Apple due to higher hits. Or if you'd use even lower attack potions (such as Heartstoppers or Red Ciders) the Carabella user would be the winner. In the end the differences aren't huge and it mostly comes down to how funded you are.
Let's not forget about Sire's program!!! http://royals.ms/forum/threads/warrior-weapon-comparison-program.12903/
I've posted similar info before, though I kept my calculations to myself since they were long and boring. I analyzed a lot of situations leading up to endgame gear as well. Couple things to consider: 1. As your total atk drops (have well scrolled rather than perfect swords, or having weaker cape/glove/shoe) the 1h sword + shield will win by larger and larger margins. If you're not perfecting a stonetooth, it's not worth using a stonetooth. 2. If you can't ST with under 30 base dex, you shouldn't ST at all. 3. If you're primarily using red ciders or lower, then rather than nearly tying ST gets blown out. That gets compounded if you don't have this level of glove/cape/shoe, which are among the best in the server. Running similar numbers on stats, but a 7 atk shoe 8 atk cape 15 atk glove I calculated that a carabella (or sparta) can win easily with only around a 20 atk shield on heartstoppers. That negates the best argument for stonetooth, that you only have to perfect one item rather than two. A 20 atk shield can be had for less than half the cost of one slot of white scrolls. It's almost negligible at this funding level. Stonetooths are overrated.
Thanks for posting this. Much easier than reading in guild chat. I had similar findings: a perfect Red Katana with a ~26 watk shield would beat a perfect Stonetooth when using an apple. Carabella wasn't far behind either. I think there were a few situations where Stonetooth came out on top. I'll check my results when I get a chance. It's kind of funny, but I would honestly have accuracy concerns with that RK+shield build. I can see maybe getting ~150 accuracy from gear. Using the overall, you lose probably ~30 accuracy.
True. You do lose quite a bit of accuracy switching to a STR overall. It might be worth using regular top and bottoms in case you're not getting above 150 acc with a regular overall.
Once upon a time, 17step was a one-handed Hero using a 140/21 Sparta and a 19/10 Shield. Upon quitting, the legendary @Tommy gave him a beautiful 112atk clean Dragon Claymore. In his excitement, 17step scoured the Free Market to find scrolls, holed himself up in FM17 and sparks began to fly. When he was finished, he took a gulp of water and compared his range between the new 127atk Claymore he had made with his former setup. He was flabbergasted to find that, while clean, his range had dropped significantly, but on Heartstoppers, his range was almost the same. The plot thickened when he made his current weapon, the golden 140/18 Stonetooth Sword, and his clean range went up by 300, and his Apple range, by nearly 2,000. Translation: My experience shows differently, so I'm confused. I know that my 140 Sparta is 7atk off a perfect Carabella; 7atk for me at my level is roughly 350 range, which would essentially tie my 1h range with my currently unfinished Stonetooth Sword range, and both would have the same attack speed. Before I switched, I ran the test as well to understand more what I was getting into; with my equips, even perfecting a Maple Shield would've still had me behind a perfected Stonetooth on Apples and Heartstoppers, though I would've been higher in clean range by about 300. My other equipment is all roughly the same as the equipment you listed in your calculations, with the exception beings an unperfected Stormcaster Glove, no 2 Carat Ring, and standard 10 DEX Earrings. Yes, I'm aware that Claymores are behind in speed by one level so the DPS would be lower, I was simply using it as an example of a 2h range compared to a 1h range. The Red Katana stats are interesting; the best DPS solo trading off for the inability to use the Hero party steroid in SI. I suppose that it's the most hardcore option, seeing as 92atk Red Katanas are probably less common than 112 Carabellas since people kill Horntail a lot nowadays.
honestly if we're talking perfection you've gotta have godly cape/fs. 15 att cape and fs is not in any way unreasonable, and neither is 22 att scg for a perfected hero.
I know people who are perfecting weapons with gear FAR below that, and with the expense and unreliability of chaosing things, perfecting a weapon becomes a cost efficient upgrade much earlier than this level of gear. regardless, my point wasn't that there was a problem with the gear you were comparing, but rather to illustrate a trend to your findings in place of a single point, so people could better make an informed decision.
2 handed, but a Red Katana reacts very well too because of the high speed. It's kinda like multiplying the bonus on your other attack bonuses (gloves, cape, shoes, shield, attack potion) by 1.095 compared to a Carabella. A 2h sword roughly gets a 1.15x multiplier from attack bonuses (compared to a 1h sword of same speed).
Oh okay, because I remember going onto a spawn server to test this. Weirdly they didn't have chaos scrolls so I just had to scroll for str/dex. When using an apple the Stonetooth was better than the Carabella. This was without the pgc/fs being chaosed.
The Stonetooth should still be able to beat the carabella with an apple, even without godly cape and shoes. Also it would depend a bit on how good your shield is.
