character name(s) : SkFishs , SkFish (mainly use) where the issues happened, date and time (GMT): (GMT+8) about 7 pm after details of the issues: I keep randomly dc after GMT+8 7 pm. It had been a couple of days. At morning I didn't DC that much ( will dc like once per 2 hours, still not normal), but at night I DC like crazy (sometimes dc once per 2 min ) and I cant even play the game. It didn't have any error code, just "Unable to connect to game" type DC. I tried to Uninstall the game but it didn't help. It is not my internet problem because my Youtube, Facebook is working fine. And I played other games is fine too. So I try to connect with my phone hotspot to see if it was my internet problem, but still DC. I tried closing the firewall and still DC. And I checked my window is updated. I had tried everything. Is it my IP problem or some bug?
It could be the connection issue between you and Royals Please try the following test when you are disconnecting/crashing often Note: if you are only disconnecting after 7 pm but the network is fine at 10 pm ~ 12 am, it's likely your ISP is throttling your game port connection to give data priority to Netflix or something https://sourceforge.net/projects/winmtr/ IP address for test: 51.68.205.179 Simply download that software, run it, input that IP address, and click start. Allow it to run 100 tests (which you can tell from the 'Sent' column), then take a screenshot of the program and post it here.
Ya I DC one time while doing the test. It started lag after I talk to npc or doing something. If I afk then I survived longer ( still ended up DC).
The test result is basically saying you are facing about 10% data loss and a latency average of 150+ Would recommend doing this test again at around 7 to 8 pm (GMT +8)
I got a couple of tests at 2am, 1pm and 10pm. After downloading the new patch I thought will be fine, so I didn't test at 7pm. But I started DC again at 10pm. So I took a test at 10pm. These are all the results.
Your test results of 2 am and 1 pm looks fine - no data loss But the 10 pm results show the issue where you are facing data loss at the following points: 14th - 16% data loss 15th - 25% data loss 17th to 19th - 19% data loss 27th - 16% data loss As the data loss occurs between your connection and Royals, there's really nothing we can do about this but only to wait for the lag wave to pass The affected points isn't something controlled by your ISP, or by Royals, they are data centers located all over the world And for this case, they are located in US
I don't understand what it means but seems like there is no solution to fix this But still, thanks for helping. I hope this can be solved soon.
Basically, you are facing data loss when connecting from your ISP to Royals Can only wait for the issue to self-resolve, or bypass them with VPN
I thought you couldn't run royals with a VPN? Would this give you a more stable connection? If so how would I set it up? I have been having issues also at my new address. It come and goes but almost daily I'm dcing quite a bit. I do have Nord VPN but I don't want to get auto banned! Would I choose an australian server or preferably a US server?
I think you are mistaken about the VPN issue We are allowed to use VPN, but due to abuse by hackers, lots of public VPN's IP addresses have been banned by Royals https://royals.ms/forum/threads/do-not-use-public-vpn-services-for-mapleroyals.73925/ Also, it's not possible to use NordVPN for Royals as they have included a fake MAC address which will crash Royals I have tried contacting them about the fake MAC address but they did not get my inquiry You can use NordVPN if you managed to disable to fake MAC address In regards to the region of AU or US, I am unable to confirm as each connection have their own network routing, you would have to try it out yourself
I have gone with pure PVN with the dedicated Aus server, I will see how it goes for the next few weeks I guess! Damn ISPs being damn awful.
