recently https://royals.ms/forum/threads/s-911-golden-teeth-3m-each.199458/ old https://royals.ms/forum/threads/banned.110547/#post-614845 They bought a tons of golden tooth that farmed by hackers. one is banned but one is not. what do you think ?
You want me banned brother? Ppl irl do this all the time when they have capital. Theres also ppl doing it with other items too such as taru totems and narician jewels. Making a profit of buying it for cheap and reselling it for more its merching what ppl in fm do. Also are you aware that other ppl were buying from a hacker too might even be you? When i buy stuff in the fm i dont know any of the characters that i am buying it from they are all random except for common stores that i surf through often.
On one hand, its wrong to ban the innocent for buying stuff on the market at a suspicious price. What if you bought a vote abuser's White Scroll to finish your items, or a Chaos Scroll to make that face stomper, or a RWT perfect item. Banning people for knowingly or unknowingly buying abused/hacked items with their legit mesos can open a huge can of worms. It would be nuts to take back all items used with any of these abused items. Half the gear in the game would probably be confiscated. It's also a free market and people are going to naturally be opportunists to buy low and sell high. On the other hand, you can cover up intentionally hacked/abused/RWT items with the excuse of "i bought his items with my mesos and didn't know it was hacked". Then they're just selling to themselves to divert suspicion. Trading a perfect sky ski for a average ROA, buying tons of gold teeth off a "random" and reselling the EOF, convincing a noob to sell all his WS for half price. Who knows if these people are setting themselves up to be the innocent "victim buyer" but are actually the ones selling to themselves or accomplices. We may never know. I would just let GMs do what they think on a case by case basis and not put much mental effort on their job. This server has enough drama, and it's just a FTP old mushroom game.
Would rather have seen the items been removed and the trade refunded if they were proven to be linked to some illegal farm and being sold cheap for obvious reasons - bans should be reserved for someone who is intentionally looking for these kinds of trades even after given warnings. Would require more staff so it's probably an unrealistic approach
If I may offer my two cents on this whole shenanigan that's going on right now: Honestly, when someone is accusing me of being a hacker or doing something I did not do, I would "try hard" to be proven innocent because it's not just my account that's on the line, but also my reputation. I wouldn't just brush it off and let people accuse me and ruin my image like that so I think Mr. NANI1 over here defending himself in this manner is completely justified. (This guy also lives in FM and I see him everywhere, searching every single FM in every single channel quite literally, so hard work like that should be rewarded.) To put the topic of this post back on track and not let it turn into back-and-forth pointing fingers like adult babies, I do not think buying hacked items like gold teeth should be bannable. Like others have said, how are they to know whether or not the item was hacked/botted to begin with? Also, how would staff be able to justify that the buyer is buying it with malicious intent? There's just too much work and brainpower in the background scene to put on the T&C that buying hacked items is bannable. Someone else said it but if the hackers do end up getting banned, those mesos on that banned account will not be flowing into the market, so I think it's probably simpler to be left just at that.
I agreed this. but my friend kazzy (banned for buying gold tooth) is quit after that happened. So im madge to GMs
feelskumaman But yeah, if your friend kazzy got banned for that, then a HUGE chunk of the Royals population that has completed zak prequests that have owl'd gold teeth and bought them in FM should be banned if GMs kept the same consistency.
To shed some light on my perspective, here's a short story of one of many occasions similar to this. There was this popular Royals player. He was banned for RWT. The forum exploded in drama. Posts about GMs being incompetent, smegas saying "#free xxx", and everyone lashing out. Then for some reason, a rumor was created that i reported him. When it wasn't me, it was several others close to him. I was attacked, the entire guild discord was attacked. The wild thing was that everyone knew he was RWT'ing? But defending him and attacking others. Later he found out it wasnt me. He said sorry, everyone else just carried on. Most of those players that attacked others are no longer with us today. I was not accusing @NANI1, just making a point that his actions are kinda sus. Like, in Among Us, if all i say is, "red is sus", doesn't mean he is the imposter. He jus a lil sus. i get hes trying to prove his case, but we've heard cases before. I have reason for suspicion based off the track record of this server's population, not him as a individual. Not all people are innocent and not all people are guilty. If innocent people are buying hacked items, they shouldnt be banned at all. Blaming them is wrong, especially when it stems from the lack of a autoban. But this question OP has won't ever have a finite answer either. We can say what we think, not sure if it would ever be changed. This has been an issue for years. Kuma lost a good friend that quit for this reason. Yet is asking why on this occasion is it different. So does it justify that the others be unbanned? I think so. Nani being sus is a valid discussion on this topic because even if i do think he's sus, hes not banned for Gold Teeth buying, which is why thats a good example. While other possibly innocent people are still banned. It's unfair and doesn't justify the other's current punishment, an unjust policy should be overturned and corrected.
Teeth should absolutely be taken from them and refunded. Benefiting from a hacker even from a point of not knowing should be reversed where applicable. It's still illegitimate items making their way into the economy which takes from legitimate farmers. It sucks for those innocent in the trade, but overall a sound resolution for an issue like this. Plus y'all way too salty over like 3 messages. Insecure af
Yes but in this case you were lashing out at me spreading rumors that I hack. Hey wild thing is i dont hack and I just surf the fm for cheap deals and happen to stumble upon cheap teeth that was on sale. Also you were accusing me of hacking with this statement "Wouldn't these same third party programs make you able to ban evade since you have multiple connections to the server, thus being able to hack teeth on one connection, then buy them "legitimately" on another." the only "multiple connection" I have is my laptop and my PC. "I was not accusing @NANI1, just making a point that his actions are kinda sus. Like, in Among Us, if all i say is, "red is sus", doesn't mean he is the imposter. He jus a lil sus. " Stop trying to play victim. But fr though imagine buying something from the fm and then getting banned the next day without you knowing what happened that would be a joke
GM just think that buying something from a hacker is okay whether you know or suspect that it is from a hacker or not just don't make it a business/career.
I owl gold teeth prices frequently and check who's selling teeth at what price because I farm them myself. When I see someone selling bulk teeth, I report them, not take advantage of them. Did you really not know when you saw that guy selling that shit dirt cheap? You may not have "known" those are from hackers because you are not the GM, but I would rather play the game saving my conscience.
How sad it is to see all this, I honestly do not know what happens, but the tension is increasing and if by buying and selling items it is banned, for a year I have been taking a screenshot of everything, income, expenses, purchases, sales , I am currently after the stalking of an equipment, I hope one day they will sell it and thus buy it, and also with capture and all because I have worked for more than 2 years in collecting mesos
Wait, if this is allowed now.. Wtf are we all doing leeching/farming..? "Consistency is key!" - Grendel the Really Old, probably. - GM Blog: November 2020 If any player in the past is banned doing this, I don’t see why players in 2021 shouldn’t be banned.
