So my first char was a NL, I know bad choice. I learned later in game that i have to HP wash so its possible for me to boss endgame comfortably. (Made two years ago.) Anyways, I did a small wash the char is old so i cant recall when i started putting AP into int but basically i have 75 int base and i used some INT gear which got me to 3249 MP clean without any equips and the NL is level 139. so my question is: Is it salvageable? taking into consideration that i will do daily hp quest and Ellinia HP quest also equips and use more INT gear as i level up. Or just give up and make a new one? Goal is around 12k HP. Thoughts are welcome ty!
Whats your hp now? Which bosses do you want to do? How comfortable do you want to be? It depends. If you want to be brain dead at every boss in the game and just hold down TT, wash to 18k+ hp. If you only run some bosses, don't mind making some Dark Knight friends, and playing more casually. Don't remake. The hp quest and hp equips in game is enough to play casually without washing. You just have to pay attention at certain bosses and stick to doing your dailies. Instead of using mesos for washing, buy better gear.
The question is, how much time do you want to invest in this game? Do you want to participate in all bosses & content? Its completely possible to salvage & achieve the 12k HP goal, but you wouldn’t have a good time esp in the current end game attraction of the server, auf. I recommend you remaking if you plan to really invest your time in royals & not regret your decision. Of course if you just want to enjoy the game casually, then continue as it is!
Nothing crazy im a casual player but yes eventually i don't want to be stopped from playing a ceratin boss just because i haven't washed as i said i don't mind being high alert on hp and being cautious i just dont want to not participate at all
why not just have 2 NLs the current one without much washing for an extra 2 runs of zakum, pap and krex everyday - get dem mesos n NX and one that is washed for the late game content? the most important part is to have fun instead of logging in everyday and getting bogged down washing the "perfect character" and farming to fund that character it may look like a waste of time to raise 2 characters, but you can be like the multiclient legends (sadly i cant find the videos on the forums), where they would "solo" zakum by playing 6 characters at once (iirc it was like 3-4 attackers, HS and SE)
I have completed many Auf runs with a 12k HP Corsair. It's not easy, it's very hard. Many failures at first, but so worth it and rewarding once you learn the mechanics. You have to learn the mechanics, rely on a good party with boss control, and watch animations and set timers effectively. You aren't actually gated from participating in any boss in the game without washing (Except Toad). You just have more obstacles to navigate, such as HB, Skill/Technique, and party size/comp. There are 2 ways of doing it. Spending months farming to wash, then just go to every content and hold down one button. Which defeats the purpose of wanting to do all content in the game, if washing just makes it all more of the same. Or, you form a well-rounded party to defeat the boss with the mechanics already in the game with the HP you have. You gotta remember also, "Recommended HP" in a lot of these guides for bosses are really just recommendations so that you can literally watch youtube while bossing. Toad is the only boss in the game you need a lot of HP for, but it's such a shit boss to do nobody really cares. Like, it's REALLY BORING, you're not missing out on much. HT minimum HP is actually 7404, not 9800. Shao's 12k Magic attack is easily dodged with Iframes from taking damage from the spikes on the map. Verg's Dispell and Short-range attack is dodged by standing on the crane and jumping at the right moment, just about every boss has a strategy to kill it without washing. Different strategies are already in place and mechanics are already there to be used. Yes, it is much easier and efficient to boss while washed. But it does kill a lot of the core mechanics and strategies of the game. It depends on personal preference on how you want to play the game. People should stop saying "you HAVE to wash", really the only class that should be washing is Dark Knight IMO, the rest are fine with or without. You only HAVE to wash if you're in an all Nightlord boss run. Yea, you all have to wash because you're all min-maxing together. But if you run an NL/Sair, Shad, DK, SE, Bucc, HT party, you have HB and it still beats an NL party. (i did the speed runs. NL party is inefficient at HT, which is the most popular boss in-game to do for Mesos/exp) Oh, and A LOT of people don't realize that the new Daily HP quest is buffed. I'm getting an average of 40HP per Quest (20mins per completion). I made an MM to test its efficiency and already have 8500 HP at 147 in just a month, and still have to get more HP gears (blackbelt/Legendarycollector/etc). And GMs have confirmed that there may be more HP gain activities coming. Let's say I want 12k HP by 155 on my MM. I Minimally wash, only using some Int gear and 4 base INT. Once I have all my HP/Attack gear, and no longer can unlimited HP quest, I should be around 11000hp (9500 base+Equips) @ 155 on my MM. Which could take 1-2 months from today casually. Then it would only take about 30 days to get to 12k doing 1 daily hp quest per day. You can spend those 30-60 days doing one HP quest per day, and farming/merching for attack gear. Or spend those 30-60 days making a new washed character and still being broke. Like, it's NOT more efficient to be unwashed, it's just a different playstyle and preference. I feel that if you actually like playing Maplestory, you go unwashed. If you enjoy min-maxing, go washed. what you absolutely should do is make mages or shadower for farming to fund attack gear. Shads are great for taunt/steal farming certain items, and multiple mages are insane farmers.
Whether to wash is one aspect, whether to restart is a whole different question. Main things I would look at is how much effort you’ve already put into this character. Some things such as legendary collector, chaosed/scrolled event items, black belt, quest virtuoso, chairs, should be considered before restarting. Those above are afew but I’m sure theres more to it. Some of those achievements would’ve taken you hundreds of hours to complete, which you could do the daily hp quest instead of doing again.
I’d make another NL and keep doing daily HP quest on your first one. As other people have mentioned, it really depends on how much time you’re willing to spend on the game - but having 2 NLs can allow you run extra bosses each day in the future, or you can even learn to duo attack with them for maximum, sweaty af DPS.
