Dragon's Breath is a 4th job bowmaster skill that pushes mobs back. It doesn't work on bosses. I believe this means it doesn't work in LHC since all the mobs there are bosses. What if Dragon's Breath worked on bosses? Pros * Another pusher class to make it easier to form parties where pushers are important (Auf, LHC) * More interesting skill progression for BM since now you can't max absolutely every useful skill Cons * Makes BMs OP? IDK I'm interested in hearing others' thoughts on this potential change to the skill. This is not in Feedback yet since I'd like to hear more thoughts on it.
I think this does make BMs OP, Especially if you get SI buff. Make 2th job skill: Powe Knock-Back worked for the boss??
I'm not a BM, but I'd like to say that Hamstring is already incredibly useful in boss fights for keeping bosses in check. For example, I've aufed several times where the bucc pinner unfortunately dies, but thankfully Hamstring makes it much easier to pin her. I think rushing boss control is a great selling point for warriors/buccs, and would rather not see that diluted by giving another class the ability. At the same time, I don't know if it makes BM overpowered (at first glance) , however Dragon Breath is unique in that it's a rush skill where the user does not need to get up close and personal with the boss (Rush, Corkscrew Blow, Snatch, Backspin Blow). So there is that. Feel free to disagree. As for LHC, unfortunately its not possible to enable dragon breath just in there and not for all bosses. You can read this. Again, Hamstring and SE are quite useful in LHC. I'm just mentioning this before people try to think of some compromises.
I don't think. The reason why it works on shao is that it caused a 3k+ damage so that shao Knockback.
Seems OP as hell to me at first glance. BM/MM has so many tools already. Stuns, Slows, Freeze, Blind. A Ranged Boss push would make Melee's rush useless. Melees have a ranged pull and a CQ push which is pretty fair. I think a BM/MM pushing Auf into a corner with such ease would make it too easily solo-able, which would not really help party composition when you could just do it alone. Lol, which sounds appealing and all, but is it fair? You already are out of touch damage and dispel range. I've soloed Auf with Pala and Shad, but it's annoying with dispelling and touch damage. An MM/BM with a ranged rush would make solo Auf a breeze. If you're skilled, don't even need to HP wash. Every BM/MM could solo Auf. God, I wish there was a test server to test that. Would be hilarious. Reminds me of when Matt tested Hurricane able to work while jumping. Turned BM into Lars Andersen.
PKB does work on Shao, though somewhat inconsistently. I use it in combination with Dragon Breath to separate clones from Shao. I'm not 100% sure of the reason it doesn't work on Shao all of the time, but highly suspect that the times it doesn't work, shao is aggro to my duo partner. Kind of like how often warriors/bucc cannot rush a LHC mob when it's aggro to another party member.
all of this, plus don't forget puppet. it got a huge HP buff. in some situations, quick casts of it will work basically exactly like db, especially solos.
Interesting, I've tried to Dragon's Breath in Shao on the clones, but I've had issues due to this: I'm probably just doing things wrong.
Lol OH YEA. PUPPET! I use puppet to solo the Pirate boss at CWK faster than an NL because you can make him only shoot his sharks to the right, thus never being knocked back. Every 3-4 minutes or so just recast it.
Two people have mentioned that a ranged push skill in bosses is OP. This is an interesting suggestion:
pkb already does work for some, try it out on BF. it doesn't need to work for all. youre a low str archer, its a 2nd job skill
Use PKB when mobs are close up, use Dragon breath when mobs are further. Keep in mind that Shao's hit box is weirdly dynamic, i.e. the size of the hit box changes rapidly and unpredictably, so sometimes even though it appears further away, the large hit box can make it actually very close to you.
Going to add to the list of BM skills that helps solve their min range problem: Mortal blow. It does huge damage to mobs up close with a fairly high trigger rate, knocking back the mob enough for your hurricane to fire again. It also has a small chance of 1hko non-boss mobs when they are below 50% HP (e.g. Shao clone).
