The FM feels crowded without the tree people can stand on and without it, it makes the chalkboards less useful. It doesn't have to be the Christmas tree but there should be something that gives the entrance more verticality.
So here's the thing. The lounge is SUPPOSED to be the place for people to meet up, chill and socialize. Socializing is 100% the most important aspect of this game. There's no chance in hell anyone would play any version of MapleStory to the extent and efforts that they do without its beautiful ability to seamlessly unite likeminded homies. WITH THAT SAID, the Free Market is unfortunately just the superior spot to socialize. Being able to swap items, buy Smegas, access your storage/funds, meet up with forum members or smegas to make sales, and any other game-related exchange makes this a go to rendezvous spot. A great temporary fix for this issue is to just make a non-denominational decoration in the Free Market for us to stand on so our chat boxes don't intrude with one-another. I know things are always much easier said than done, but I do believe that without a strong emphasis and attention to detail on an imperative part of socializing in MapleStory for most, i.e. the Free Market, you risk making the game much less entertaining for some of your most important players: the ones who have no end game and are the most likely doomed to play for a longer period of time. Royals Staff, I know it sounds small and irrelevant, but I assure you, the Cuddles guild alone can speak if no one else will: the Pumpkin and the Tree has helped grow our guild and keep it thriving! Please consider adding something, and not just for us! Ohms, Faded, and any other guild that hangs out in the Free Market, make it known here!!!
If you want it to be a tree, why not a maple tree? I don't think anyone would rightly complain about a maple tree in Maplestory. It might be easier for the devs to implement that since there are some big maple tree graphics already in the game (the golden maple tree event, maybe others).
I would love to see this! I think at the very least modifying the current tree to let players climb and stand on would be enough. I would totally support a new tree to be there but I understand if we want to keep the old look appeal
it would be nice if you or anyone else can indicate the foothold (aka a place where the player can stand. the red lines for example). The blue dots are the teleportation spot
I think your indicator would work perfectly fine! I'll add mine which looks very similar. I think that hole in the tree gets used during the Moon Bunny Event to get to the Rescue Gaga JQ, so it might be an issue once that event comes along. How about adding a rope instead for players to climb up to the tree with? Spoiler: With some characters superimposed onto the tree

Hm although if the rope requires people to jump to get onto it, then I think we wouldn't habitually hold up arrow like that then .
I wish I could break my habit... I see rope 50 miles away I hold up arrow , it is a me problem I guess. Looking forward to it, regardless. I will power through.
