Is it possible that pet loot could be disabled on certain maps, like select bosses? I'd like to hear peoples' thoughts on this in case I'm missing some positive thing pet loot does in bosses. I feel like for party bosses (bosses above pap, chao and ephenia where people usually run them alone) pet loot should be disabled, if it's at all possible. It's a bummer for some untradeables (NX, helms, skillbooks) to be auto looted by pets in the event someone forgets to turn it off. I understand that this is the player's responsibility, but this could be a pretty big QoL change. It's pretty terrible to realize you have it on mid-boss and you don't have the avoidability or safe spots to quickly turn it off.
Maybe pet ignore item can have multiple customized sets and you can select an active set to use. E.g. you can create a diff set for each boss / farm map
That idea is a good idea, but it doesn't solve the issue of someone forgetting and then not able to take it off, As a Shadower it is really easy for me, but i can see how this affect other classes that cannot afford it, I pesonally think that this should be implemented on bosses that are usually not done solo, like Zak, HT, Auf,
To be honest i find it unnecessary because you can manually deactivate the item pounch and to avoid some fights you can just communicate with your team and worst case you can use the ignored item
You can already ignore 30 items if you have 3 pets each with item ignore. When things do go wrong we also have the item loot notification system to make visible who looted certain untradeables like helms & nx. I don’t think we need to make that change on top of the current systems/opportunities. I do use pet loot at Auf Haven to clear corners with 5k NX cards and Auf Haven Circlets on item ignore too so i can split them with my party much easier.
Wait, the item ignore lists are valid for all pets? So if my #1 pet is ignoring Mana Elixirs, my other 2 pets don't need to be ignoring Mana Elixirs in their lists to ignore Mana Elixirs? If using item ignore pendants on all 3. Also, if you forget to turn off pet loot and are unable to remove it before the boss gets killed, just hang on a rope as the boss dies.
If pet #1 has Mana Elixiers on ignore pet #2&3 should ignore it as well if they have an ignore pendent too. You don’t need to add Mana Elixiers there.
