Road to 400 Cards (Legendary Collector Achieved)

Earlier today before reset, I have reached a new milestone of collecting 350 set of monster cards.


With this, I can finally sort out what to collect for the remaining 50 cards to get my Legendary Collector medal

Stopper mule/AOE: For big maps (split map with NL) and NLC Haunted House (very useful to counter low spawn rate and stressful hunting experience )

At the moment, I am not rushing for the medal, and I intend to keep the progress relax in balance with my work & life.
You may see some 'easy cards' appearing in my upcoming progress, don't judge me

I'm finally fxxking done with Haunted House. This is my first time grinding cards at NLC and it is definitely not the best experience. I got 2 cards from Crimson Tree while channel surfing, might go for this card and Phantom Tree next time when doing HP quest.

Damn and here i am with only 120 sets so far ._. when did you start farming cards? I started 3 months ago so hopefully ill be done with mine before 2023

 

I started farming seriously at Level 135 after washing. That was probably before February this year.

I did have some cards from self leeching/paid skele leech and getting quest virtuoso which helped me with the earlier collections before 135. They are still legit to me because I spent my own time on them.

On average I can get up to 30 cards during weekend/long weekend before hitting 350 cards. It really depends on your character class and level. If you are more than Level 100, you can clear continents one by one. You will reach 250 cards faster than you think.

I started using Taunt and AOE/stopper mule on bigger map/low spawns two weeks ago and I think it is really helping to save time.

What does that even mean?

 

Taunt is a skill of 4th job thief. It can be cast to increase drop rates of mobs (excluding bosses) including monster card. Level 1 gives +11% which is decent enough mathematically.
Drop rate is still RNG though, whether it really helps. For example today I completed 5 Jonin cards in 10 minutes without using Taunt, and 5 Kunoichi cards in >25 minutes using Taunt.


AOE is any 4th job mage/BS with their 4th job ultimate, usually they can be used to farm stopper too using the 4th job summoning.
Using multiclient, I split map with my NL main in big maps like Rexton and Brexton. My BS would use genesis on top and my NL would be hunting at the bottom. This reduces the time spent on my NL jumping up and down soloing the map.

When I was hunting for cards in Haunted House last week, I left my BS with Bahamut on in one channel, while my NL main hunted cards in another channel.
The spawns in Haunted House is fixed and can be time consuming if I were to just focus on one channel. When my BS hunted a card, I would use my NL to go to BS' channel to pick up the card.



Now these are time-saving techniques, whether you consider it legit or not. Some people say it is unfair. To me, I only have 24 hours a day and I have a life to live on

Today's Reuel HP quest is to hunt in NLC, so... yea

Also, I realised I have completed the card Qualm Monk before 350 cards. I have now removed it from my 'To Hunt List'. The list will bring me to 399 cards, and I will decide the last card in few more days/weeks.


So I found lots of Headless Horseman and killed >30 of them to complete the set and have gotten 3 more Elderwraith cards. The list will now bring me to 400 cards
