Hello all! I haven't really played maple since 2008 when there were just the 3 job advancements to be had. I think this is about as close as I can get to that experience without having a 3 person population lol. I wanted to start, but I am lost by so many things. This is pre big bang, but also way after the 120 job advancement came out right? I don't know what this HP washing is, I am unfunded, and just want to know what my best shot at playing and enjoying this is. Am I going to be completely lost? Is this anything like the game I remember? I wanted to play an I/L mage or a DK. Am I going to be trash if I play it like I did in 2006-8? Should I be learning how to HP wash or do anything prior to making my character? Anyway, any advice would be great. I start a warrior for now, but don't want to hit 70 and realize I should have been doing x, y, and z the entire time.
There's a couple ways to play. When I played as a kid, I didn't even really know 4th job existed. I just went around on my level 50 and enjoyed the game. It wasn't optimal at all of course, but it didn't have to be. You can do just that and for me at least, it's very nostalgic. If you want to play in a more optimized way it's also an option. DK is a good way to get some of both. The amount of HP washing you need to do is low, so you can spend most of the time playing however you want and you won't mess anything up. Check the guides section for washing info too btw, they'll explain it well, but for now if you equip just a bit of int gear while you level up, you'll be just fine.
