a huge uproar occurred when shifter was nerfed by staff due to it being so advantageous to 4th job thieves and their survivability. understandably they wanted the difficulty of the game to be a bit more than pets feeding you potions while holding att on cruise control (obv not all boss fights, though) I don't even personally think this concept has a chance, but in pure devil's advocate fairness, it is a decent best of both worlds trade off that maintains more balance than not, and i thought I'd at least bring it up. it dampens mule dependence, increases alertness and checks the insane tankiness of both classes via potion preparedness and usage perhaps at max (30), shifter costs 7 mp. at earlier levels it costs higher. if mp is temporarily depleted or below the amount to proc, shifter rates drop to 50% their current level, with no mp cost (still excellent). guardian is a different case being that it requires an entire playstyle and gear change to implement, as well as tactical/positioning drawbacks, whereas shifter is leagues better, and always active. of course this sounds as controversial as nerfing shifter, but i think its a healthier middle road, if considered, although the shifter topic seems settled at this point. just food for thought/thinking out loud edit: one perk would be that it would give 2nd job's Endure a lot more value for its passive mp recovery boost
I think its just a perk of the class, just like Stance is for Warrior, KB Rate for BM and the 'Stance' that Bucc's have.
i agree, its a hard earned perk and highlight skill of the 4th jobs, but in the strict conceit of "op"ness, thats the whole reason it was ever even considered and up for nerfing/tweaking due to how godly it transforms the classes, especially shads with MG and bstep iframes and smoke. stance is conditional, must be cast with mp, has duration, can be dispelled. bow/xbow kb requires forgoing a real attack, to be up close, and may not proc, and with pkb, costs mp, but doesn't offer any deep bossing benefits (you can pkb bigfoot, but have fun with that). bucc stance is also conditional, costs mp. as a shad main i wouldn't mind at all if it charged mp, but again i think the shifter backlash, i doubt this will be considered, this is more for food for discussion/thinking out loud than considering. even if it cost 7, or X hp instead of mp at max, I'd still take it for the immense avoid benefits
From the votes this doesn’t seem like a desired change. On top i feel like passives requiring MP fit well. Moving it to closed.
