What do you mean by inflation being insane? When you look at the price of some essential items, they haven't gone up in years. There really isn't an inflation issue whatsoever... at least not in terms of mesos. Inflation seems completely disconnected from voting for gachapon items, because if they didn't come from gach theyd for sure be added to drop from other content. I do like that new players can get some standard base income by voting. I think that's actually a pretty good feature. But I could support a change that slightly raised the NX cost of gachapon and then added gachapon drops to some bosses. Like as a DrK, I really wish there was a good way to focus on farming sky skis, rather than just look thru the fm or hope I get lucky from voting. Would be nice to have specific bosses or PQs or anything I could complete to try to get them as a drop (without increasing the drop rates, it is good that they're rare)
The more items obtainable without using gachapon, the happier I am. Gacha feels like just such a boring way to get items.
Heavily agree on two points: 1. HP washing should slowly be replaced entirely (And a lot of thought needs to be put into doing this without crashing the APR market since almost all non-leeching players get their funds from it) 2. The lack of accessible information. This is incredibly easy to fix in relation to in-game features. Literally a pinned forum post with server rates, character skills modifications, HP quests, NX drops from bosses, PQ lvl caps and basically everything that's relevant to a starting player that is different from GMS or even something important that could easily be forgotten
Love your review!!! Absolutely agree with the review entirely. Since you have played so many servers, I would also like to pick your brain on some possible solutions/alternatives for the more complicated issues on your cons list. Some that I have had in the past: Removing Gacha from CS, or increasing its cost to purchase. Then make Gacha/NX drop from PQ bonus stages, as well as purchasable via "tokens of teamwork". Also, further expansion of methods of obtaining Tokens of Teamwork such as Bossing, LHC, and removing/increasing the limit on tokens obtained per day per PQ. Generally, a large expansion of the Tokens shop's inventory. This further rewards active gameplay and gives people a reason to do more daily bossing/PQ. A GM updated Compendium that is a one-stop shop for all Royal's things. Instead of information being scattered throughout many forum posts or fan-made databases that you have to search for, A GM should manage and run a Royal's Compendium. It can be as simple as a spreadsheet with links, images, references, and guides. Example: I made this for my New World Guild. I tried starting this myself, just don't have the time right now. Which GMs probably don't either. It is a huge pain to link new players like 20 links when they first join Royals/the guild I'm in. The information is there, it's just kind of a hunt for it. Completely remove AP resets being used for washing. Add Area quest chains rewarding HP upon completion, HP pots purchasable via Tokens of Teamwork, more event items that reward HP, Custom Job-specific quests or HP reward to 4th Job Skillbook quests, Buff to HP scrolls, etc etc. Ruel's Daily HP quest is VERY good, but more avenues that diversify gameplay are always better.
fantastic review and I agree with basically everything, and i hope staff enjoys it and finds the con list a very thoughtful constructive criticism, which i think it is. only thing i disagree with is the 50-60 drought. i think its very easy to railroad to third job in short order, very short order if you want i very much agree with the points about gacha. the godly system and the ease of access. good luck with that one, but I'd love to see it overhauled as well.
Seems a bit sudden after what seemed like a mostly positive review. Did something happen? Not enjoying the Anniversary Event?
