So I went to ToT the other day and naturally it made me start to think about Pink Bean. To me, Pink Bean is nostalgic and I've been playing since before v62. That's just me though. I understand that the boss wasn't in v62, however there is plenty of non-v62 content in this server. I'm just curious if the staff has ever had a talk about or considered adding Pink Bean. I'm not suggesting it in any way I'm just curious if it has ever been discussed and if so what the decision was. To the staff: Pretend that at the snap of a finger you could add a perfectly functional and bug-free Pink Bean. Would you do it? I'd also like to see other players' opinions about this. I'd rather not see comments about how there are more important things for the staff, or that it'd be hard to do etc., because this is purely hypothetical. It'd be interesting to know everyone's opinions on Pink Bean and whether or not they think it would belong here.
@Matt from a long while back Personally, I wouldn't mind having Pink Bean. A new end game boss along with Maple Warrior 30 (if that's possible) would be interesting.
Maybe his opinion has changed since because in that post he mentions his opposition towards ToT. And well...it's in the server now lol.
Now that Horntail isn't as difficult to beat as it once was, I guess it'd be nice to have Pink Bean released sometime. That being said, defeating the actual Pink Bean with a 1 hour timer wouldn't exactly be possible as this is after-all v62 (pre-potentials). Having no wheel of fortune/destiny adds to the challenge as well. Well the timer can always be changed, curious to know the Staff's view on this as well. Also, just a quick-look at the Top 100 rankings, the 100th player being Level 175 (just the right level to Pink Bean, seeing that the boss is Level 180) and of the 100 players, 47 of them are Bishops. I'm not sure if we're ready for it despite extending the timer (ranged characters require a lot more base hp to survive than for Horntail) but regardless of whether it is possible or not, it'd be nice to have an attempt at it. Oh and i remember Matt saying something about damage reflect not being part of the v62 client and that in-order to include it they'd have to upgrade the client's version, or something along those lines. Perhaps given that Kevin's working on a brand new source/server we may see pink bean there when the time comes (hopefully). +1 to Maple Warrior 30 tho, gotta complete dem books!
No I doubt we can even count the amount of people with the required HP Pre-HB that can kill Pink Bean with one hand.
This is the truth. This server's players are not ready for PB. Maybe in a year. What would be better to get right now is, Haunted House chimney and Gallopera (Spooky World) in Malaysia.
Idk about Gallopera. But Chimney? Oh god pls no. Chimney makes all other training spots 30-120 (at least in Destiny) obsolete. I'm not a fan.
I'd say 11k should suffice to survive Ariel's (Statue) genesis-like attack, maybe 12k to be safe although 11 should be fine as it is (All this taking into account there's HB available of course). Speaking of HB, there's only 5 Dark Knights at the moment that are able to pb, based off rankings. Apart from that for range we have 10 NLs and 6 BMs > Level 175 as of now and this includes players who have quit and/or not having sufficient hp to survive. I wouldn't say a year, perhaps 3-4 months? It'll definitely take numerous attempts to defeat pink bean, but that's part of the fun and challenge; to organize the perfect squad capable of taking down pink bean after many failed runs. I guess the main point now is to find out if the Staff have any intention of even including Pink Bean to the server, regardless of time of release.
If PB were confirmed, I and many others burnouts would find the motivation to get 18x+. The problem with it being too hard is that it becomes a NL/BM-fest. Boohoo for other jobs. Perhaps it should be the last stage of the proposed BPQ. :')

Out of interest, why don't you like the sound of that? Because if we ever did change client versions, technically all that would change would be that the client would allow us to make use of more packets.
I assumed client version and server version was the same thing and switching from a V.62 to something else would require a wipe, so thought you meant it was impossible, or at least wouldn't happen. If you were to change client version would that fix things like how you sit on chairs and things like that?
Because not all of the new version's content is needed / has positive affect on the server ( at least for my opinion)
No, there wouldn't be a wipe if we ever decided to change versions. That post I made 2 years ago with my thoughts of v0.83 is pretty outdated of course, and I was quite a noob back then. v0.83 doesn't actually have the chair fix where you are up in the air. But it does allow for multiple layers on chairs. Changing the version of the client doesn't mean that we would need to include all the content that comes with that particular version - to an extent. Some things wouldn't be able to be reverted, such as how a v0.83 client has auto-assigning AP until 1st job, and also some UI changes like expanding the inventory horizontally. But for the most part a different client version would mean that more packets would be able to be used. For example if we wanted to add Mu Lung Dojo in v0.62, we wouldn't be able to have any of the cool things like the player/boss HP bar, special effects, special 'stage clear' banners, etc, which all use packets unique to higher version. Edit: Oh yeah, we would be able to use Belts and Medals in v0.83 too.
I guess the staff members can decide what content to release and what content not to , maybe with some community polls ? I can see it working .
