Thought this was a coincidence where maps would crash or people would DC when I leave the map, but it's happened 7+ times now. I don't know what actually causes it and cannot replicate it. Only other people DC and I stay connected. Locations it has happened: CH 1 FM, CH 11 FM, various parts of Phantom Forest Other people crashed when I: Go to lounge Change channels Go FM rooms Date/server times recorded: Sun, May 29, 2022, 20:56 Mon, May 30, 2022, 04:55 Please help, this is too much power for one person to hold.
maybe say what character you're using when this happens. Also try unequipping items to see if you can find if there's a certain item that causes this.
On the character "bawlynn" and none of my equips have changed in the past couple weeks besides equipping new NX items: Baba Blue, Red Hooded Coat, Tweed Headband. I'm not consistently DCing others where I can replicate it, nor do I want to abuse the bug. :')
No, not yet! It's still happened over the past week and increasingly so. I've had to make sure I'm the last to enter maps since people have DCed from Horntail/CWK/etc. It really sucks when people are losing apples/buffs because of this glitch.
I notice you have a Venus Firework couple ring, does the d/c only happen when the other character is around? Or has the d/c happened when they are not online?
Hi Matt, thanks for looking into this! This has occurred even when the other person isn’t around (such as when I crashed all of CH 1 FM). I can remove it and test it out today though. Are there any other items you recommend that I test out?
I would try not wearing any friendship/couple rings, see if the issue persists, and then please let us know the result. Thank you.
Confirmed that it is the ring. Hopefully can be fixed/disabled to avoid anyone abusing this! Just as a note: I didn't have this issue with any friendship rings (Star, Snow Dome, Flower)
Believe the problem with the rings is occurring again. Seems like it was fixed for a bit, but lots of DCs the past couple weeks.
Hmm the ring issue should be fixed. Do you know if the players being disconnected are receiving any error message?
There haven't been any error messages for the DCs. I stopped using rings as of yesterday to see if the DCing would continue. So far no DCs after taking off the rings, but it's only been a day. I believe the update that stated the problem was fixed noted that it had something to do with forced speed/jump stats. If this information helps at all, I recently scrolled new pet equips with speed/jump equips so perhaps something went wrong after I changed equips?
Haven't DCed ever since I removed the ring! CH 11 FM crashed when someone wearing a Snow Dome ring left the FM today as well.
May be related to the issue herein this thread, but when FM crashes players receive an error message that references outdated files and to come to the website to download the newest client.
