A few changes I would make: Max Energy Drain, not Shockwave. Energy Drain is more useful in the long term since you will never, ever use Shockwave in 4th job but you can still use Energy Drain as a finisher. It is our fastest ranged attack with almost no end lag, generous hitbox, usable in midair, and it saves potions-- what's not to like? I've watched buccs die in dojo because they didn't use Energy Drain. No idea why so many people underrate this skill. Or MP Recovery for that matter. Until you start fighting bosses with mana drain, you don't even need autoMP pouch. Yeah, Shockwave is stronger in the short term, but so are unwashed sins. I think most people would prefer to look at the long term when planning out their SP build, even if the difference is small. Instead of +11 Double Uppercut / 1 Double Shot, add +10 Double Uppercut / 2 Double Shot. This allows you to reset Improving Max HP increase all the way to zero for the alternate washing technique.
I have to disagree with this. Energy Drain is useful but doesn't need to be maxed, it will fill your HP almost instantly at lower levels. Yes, it might serve as a "finisher", but I can't imagine using it at 4th job to finish mobs over Dragon Strike. I think people who choose grinding will prefer having a strong skill to train during 3rd job. Having that said - different people play differently and if this build fits you best - by all means go for it. That's very smart, I'll add it to the guide and credit you. Thank you for your insight!
Drain isn't just a finisher, it can be an opener, too. It has no lag when used as a jump-attack when approaching an enemy, so it's basically free damage from a distance before you move into melee range. Regardless of whether you think this skill should be maxed over Shockwave, I would probably put 1 point into Drain at the same level I start adding to Energy Blast. The earlier you add points to these skills, the earlier you can assign keybinds and form your muscle memory. So for the Energy Blast build I'd recommend lv70: +1 Energy Charge lv71: +1 Energy Drain, +1 Energy Blast, +1 Energy Charge. Just so you have something to do when your energy gets charged up. I don't think most people would want to go from lv70 --> lv83 using somersault kick to get their bubble up, only to continue using somersault kick while bubble is up because they have 0 points in blast and drain.
Does this still work? I'm emotionally attached to my very first character which is a Bucc and I don't have the time nor patience to remake it. Got around 12.6k hp at 149 lmao, I just washed for a few levels and kept playing casually because I thought it was fun. I believe I could push it all the way to 14k hp with pets, equips and such but I'm not too sure about the costs of doing the quoted stuff.
Yes it does. Your situation is not too bad, natural hp gain will get you over 15k hp by level 200, and with int equips while leveling you can push it further. Refer to the HP washing calculator to know where you are standing in terms of potential HP at any time.
Honestly I'm not sure I'll play all the way to 200, can't afford anything other than casual play at this point. Also, just to be sure, the technique I quoted can be done at any time, right? As long as I've got APRs I can do it until the hypothetically desired HP without leveling up. PD: Tried using that calculator (made a copy and all) but the whole thing throws me an error unless I add something absurd like 600 base int or int gear, I'm really not sure how to use it.
I took a step further of 'use Transformation to cancel skill animations' by cancelling the transformation manually. wanted to see if it's possible to cancel every demolition animation to increase the damage output (at the cost of 5k per demolition). Turns out Transformation has its own cool down aligned with the duration. Almost ended with team wipe by Big Foot.
What method is supposed to be used against dunas v2? My friend stood on the no dispel zone but couldn’t reach her for demo barrage. It was bad because I needed him to pin. He could only barrage.
By no-dispel zone you mean the rock on the right side? For me it was awkward to attack there and I preferred pinning Dunas to the left side and rebuffing. - If your damage is high enough to consistently hit 75k+ you can Barrage+Demo on the left side, while your ranged attackers attack outside DP range. If I remember correctly you cannot stay outside DP range with just demo, so I would only do that if you want to be a little lazy and have an easier time with pinning after you rebuff. - If your damage is not high enough for that/ you are using low att pots, just Barrage+DS. - If you mule your bucc and duo/trio attack just use 3x Barrage macro and don't rebuff. That's how i personally approached it, if there are better or more efficient ways feel free to correct me.
Hmmm doesn't that make buccs subpar for v2? When i went with a shad we did fine on right side, he went on the no dp zone and was able to ass bstep and keep her pinned while I stood out of range and attacked. I'd imagine a pallys blast could also reach her just fine. Seems like with buccs you have to sacrifice some damage at this boss either by rebuffing/getting dp'ed or just sticking to barrage. Also how would you go about doing The Boss / Grandpa, he requires something ridiculous like 440 accuracy which I think is near impossible for melee.
I never actually tested the right side since it was annoying for my NL, if you are able to reach Dunas with demo only and deal 75k+ damage lines it might be doable. It's just not really my thing since I only used my Bucc as pin mule. I was able to hit Grandpa (with some misses) with events earrings + nose and maple pops. I'm not sure what's the exact accuracy to 100% hit but I think 340-360 accuracy will get you enough hits to be able to kill it. I can't really give you more detailed answers, because I don't run those bosses anymore and when I did my Bucc was only used to pin. I hope someone else will be able to provide you with more details.
hi, I encounter some problems during the HP washing part, I was wondering if u can answer for me, and sorry for my broke english I'm lvl20 now, with str4/dex20/int148(92+56)/luk4 so i know the 'base int' means the 92 part, and if i want to wash to 30k, i'll keep leveling up untill my int is (200+my int gear), right?(1) and after that, shall i put my ap into str? or what should i do?(2) and if i have to do my 3rd job advancedment during the whole HP washing process, can i beat the mob to finish the job advancedment quest?(3) about sp build, can i just follow this guide since i'm not gonna use this character to fight mobs or is there anything i need to pay attention on sp building?(4) thank u for answering!
I have a question in regards to the 19k washing section. I'm starting to prepare to wash my bucc (i over estimated my int lol... I have 420 TOTAL int). Pretty much I just need to move all my INT back into STR, correct? However, when I clicked the APR, it wouldn't allow me to -mp +hp. Is there something that I have to do to allow me to move all my MP to HP?
You probably need to spend 1 AP on +mp first. Then you can cycle that same 1 AP with -mp into +hp until you have washed all your mp into hp (down to your minimum mp).
Use amorian baskets + Heartstoppers to clear the 3rd job advancement with little trouble. The bubblegum and Chocolate popsicle found in the current event cooler boxes should do the job just fine also.
So if you didn’t level 1/2 sp from 2nd job adv into rapid fire, is the endgame washing technique described just less effective? Or is it not possible if I didn’t use any 2nd job adv SP on my 1st job skills?
An alternative 4th job skill spread for LHC (level 143-147+) Or Oblivion 5 grinding early levels would be: Level 135: Snatch lv 13 (attacks 4 monsters) - Perfect for rounding up mobs. (Corkscrew Blow is another skill good for mob-rounding too. Reverse Meso Magnet) Dragonstrike lv 10-20 - your main attack in LHC/Grinding in Oblivion 5. This should be prioritized over Snatch because it is your main attack for LHC/Grinding. Speed Infusion lv 11 - 11 is when you get the main boost, leveling it any higher can be done at a higher level. Super Transformation lv 1-11 - 11 gives you around 1 minute of uptime. You can choose to either pump up Dragonstrike first and use ST 1 or bump it up to 11 to get more uptime from the magic rocks because you will be inhaling them like crazy regardless. Time Leap lv 1 - I've been keeping my TL at level 1 for now. I'll max it after I get my single target skills maxed (currently level 157) so probably around 160+ I'll start to work on maxing out TL. You get about 45 SP from 120-135 and this was the spread I used because I decided to focus on grinding instead of bossing like I did on my other attackers for a different change of scenery. What I did was I leeched myself to 135 and then I started ToT questline to reach Oblivion 5 and then I grinded there for a few more levels until I had DS maxed out and more points into ST. I didn't start LHC until I was 147 (it's possible to go right at 143, but I haven't seen anybody sign up as a 143 so I'd recommend maybe 147 or higher until DS is maxed or almost maxed) so I stayed in Oblivion 5 grinding until then while another Bucc in our guild went the BF route. Personally I found it to be around the same time consuming-wise, so if you enjoy grinding the multi-target spread could be more ideal for you. At 157 this is my current set up and I haven't had any problems even in bossing: MW 0 DS 30 Barrage 30 Energy Orb 0 ST 11 SI 11 TL 1 Demo 18 Snatch 13 Once I max out Demo I plan on getting TL next, and then finally finishing up Snatch or SI. Warriors generally are better for pulling LHC mobs to the center but Bucc's are a close second. I might find time to get Hero's Will and put that in somewhere at somepoint in the future lol
