Temple Of Time is a training place for many people - that's for sure! But isn't it kinda annoying to get past all the maps just to go to the last ones, where most of us train? I suggest Temple of Time Taxi, or any sort of a NPC that could make our moving through the maps easier. Sorry about the thread's headline.. I wrote that wrong.
Right. I do not think we will implement this, as it is not part of the way ToT was intended to work back in the day. But, it's a suggestion nonetheless, so a discussion internally is not out of the question.
There is not a potion merchant at ToT because there wasn't one at ToT in GMS. I know in a later version (not sure how much later) there was another quest with a new npc there that eventually became a merchant at ToT.
To be entirely fair, ToT didn't even exist "back in the day" (at least insofar as that refers to Royals), so it's not exactly like it'd be ruining the sanctity of a v62 server by adding something to a piece of content that was already brought in from a newer version itself.
I am strongly against adding in something like a taxi to make the process easier. You shouldn't be able to warp to any spot quickly. Some maps should purposefully be a pain to get to.
Personally, I don't understand why there is such high desire to taxi within ToT. I don't find that the trip unreasonable as it takes ~4 minutes? People complain about repotting and whatnot, but I find that when I pot up to a high amount I can train for upwards for 6 hours without needing to repot (NOTE: As a pally I only need a ginger ale every 3-4 hits, so probably only every 2 hits for other classes) But even assuming 3 hours, I think it's reasonable to spend ~5 minutes to repot every 3 hours IF you're even training for that long.
I don't really want to see a taxi added either, FWIW. I would, however, like to see Mystic Door fixed in ToT, as I believe @maggles posted proof quite a while ago that it was supposed to.
Door was disabled on purpose iirc. It had something to do with not being able to limit door to those that had completed the relevant quests, but I believe it worked when ToT was first released. this. As an archmage I can grind for two hours at oblivion on ~1200 elixirs, and you can transfer that much through FM storage. The only time I need to go back to leafre is when I'm npc'ing a full equip inventory, but assuming you drop roses that's easily 5-6 hours of grinding to get. The walk isn't a big enough deal for grinders. It's only a hassle while you're doing the quests, or if you're coming in from somewhere else specifically to hunt lykas (and with how good lyka is, it should remain annoying to get to.)
But the "fix", disabling mystic door, is really annoying to the community. I preferred just having the bug, like in GMS.
I honestly don't see what the big deal is about walking back and forth. I have to walk to and from Road to Oblivion 2 whenever I grind, and I don't really think it's an issue.
