Hi, I haven't played in this server for a few years and I have some questions. Is HP washing still required for bosses? I remember not being able to play anything without HP washing which kind of sucks for new players. What's the state of that? Is there any way to avoid it? If it is still required, which class can play without having to pump int for HP wash? Other than all the mage classes, or any warrior classes ok? or at least ok if they put like 20-30 points in Int only? Which warrior class is best for bosses? can you explain what's good and what's bad in each warrior class? Thanks a lot!
Hello! HP washing is still a thing and a must for certain bosses. I guess all warriors are pretty decent even without washing, although u might still need to wash a little bit for certain bosses. Also, buccaneer is pretty good for that as he have a skill on 2nd job that gives extra hp every lvl/+HP given with AP
I haven't played a warrior that in-depthly, but here are some testimonies from what I can gather about the warrior classes (based on in-game discussions, forums, etc.). Again this is a mixture of my observations of others opinions and my personal opinions: Heroes: Really a middle-of-the-road warrior. Okay damage and from what I've seen, players can really appreciate their good multi-target with brandish. Very easy class to play because not only are they tanky (well, warriors, in general, are always tanky), the gameplay is simply standing in one place and holding down Brandish. But really, this is old school maple and as much as others would like to argue, many of the classes are objectively "simple" i.e. a really simple playstyle involving a limited number of skills, often leaving you to stand in one place and use a primary attack. Yes, other classes need some learning (e.g., Corsair with dodging attacks), but Hero at it's core is the most, most simple. You really just use one attack and stand there. If you have a cool weapon, Brandish looks cool and nice. Dark Knights: From what I've seen, they can pump out nice damage, but what is perhaps the most disparaging comment is the fact they have to keep an eye on their HP because of the context of their Zerk skill. From what I've noticed and witnessed, a few DK's I've bossed with did not particularly enjoy having to constantly pay attention to their HP during a boss run. Were they inexperienced and perhaps needed to "get better"? Well sure, but if you're looking for really chill gameplay, this might be something to take into consideration. I've even had one very high-level DK say to us, "I don't even know if I want to do another run", citing their frustration with having to pay attention to their attention. Their skill Hyper Body is also another thing of contention. Some argue that nobody really needs it late-game except for Zakum buyers. Some argue its sought after. Me personally? I've noticed that it's a nice skill to have when it's around, but when it's not around, nobody really seeks out a DK for their HB. Some positives is that their skills look really cool. It really invokes that old-school Maple feel. Paladins: Perhaps the most rising in popularity class next to Buccaneers, particularly for Paladin's crash skill. Sometimes, bosses use a skill that causes all party-member's attacks to hit 1's. When paladins use crash, normal attacking damage can resume. It saves a bunch of time, pots, timers on attack potions, etc. From what I've seen and heard, they do excellent damage. If you're a fan of hitting really hard and seeing that 100k+ damage, paladins are great. They have in recent been always sought after. You've probably seen R> CR or SI constantly on the smegas. If you want a class that is always sought after, Pallys are an excellent choice. Imo, they are the best warrior class simply because their damage is good, survivability is good, and you're always very very welcomed in boss runs, which adds a sense of specialness and belonging to the class. Simply, you just feel really good knowing their are many out their who love your CR skill! My suggestion: Go out on YouTube and take a look at classes and how they fight, how they boss, how they might feel, etc. The most important element is how YOU feel playing the class. Do you feel confident? Have fun? Don't get bogged down into these little micro-elements are DPS, viability, etc that some really serious players always focus on. It's not supposed to be so complicated. It's MapleStory, the goal is to have fun! What I consider fun is having a class that not only feels and plays comfortably chill, but is also really chill playstyle, AND is really easy to find a boss run for. For me personally, I would choose Paladins.
Thank for your this excellent in depth reply. My first character was a DK, so I think I've got this corner covered. Paladin it is!
