I'm not sure exactly what kind of mage I am going to be, but I was wondering how much Luk should i have? I am aiming towards being a somewhat "Low LUK" mage not a "lukless" mage. I am much to poor for that. Which is easier to train, Low luk or lukless?
LUKless really is the way to go. You can get an Ele Wand at 130 and use Bathrobe/Yellow Snow Shoes/Yellow Work Glove/Maple Shield as your equips. There's really no reason to put any LUK in, and it will make you train faster as well
You're too poor for LUKless? It's the cheapest and most efficient way to be a mage. Plus you get more MP.
My last bishop was low-luk. I just found a low-leveled godly overall and kept the amount of luk required for and then scrolled it. I think it was a brown doroness robe which required 25 luk. Mine gave something like 10 int clean and I scrolled it. It's really only worth it if you find something clean with a lot of int already (with a low luk-req). If you had a clean bathrobe and the same amount/kind of scrolls worked on it, your reg overall (with a high base int) would still be better and you'd end up with more total int in the long run. If you can int scroll it for something over your luk - 4, you win! But that's easier said than done. It's a lot cheaper and easier to go lukless.
Personally, I think the best choice for a mage is to go lukless and use Maple weps and Ele wands, but to use the free luk from the ring, a Deputy Star and (once people are capable of killing Zak) a Zhelm to equip low level mage armour with really good clean stats.
They sure are. Maple Staff drops from... Ligators? Whatever the name of the lowest level Saltie outside Kerning is. Maple Lama Staff drops from Horny Mushrooms. Shine Wand; Straw Target Dummies. Wisdom Staff; no idea. bbb.hidden-street.net for lvl 35-43 maple weapons' drop locations, global.hidden-street.net for the level 64 ones.
