The Kerning duping situation.

I'm not someone who likes to state my opinions / thoughts as facts. There is always the potential that I am incorrect, but we witness the exact same situation near May when everyone is working on finals yet again.

 

To be honest was really suprised that most of the WS and CS dropped that fast...
Firstly i thought it would be normal but then SCG's dropped quite alot and Taru Totem etc...

Most of the worthy Scrolls - are not that worthy anymore


Have in mind - that the duper might do this aggressive tactic now, because he wants to get it fixed and has enough chars loaded with stuff

 

Royals population runs pretty heavily on college vacation schedules. Also events in late august-early december are the least interesting, least rewarding in my opinion.

I would say if there nets low population even during xmas, vday, and cny it’ll be a genuine issue.

 

Id just like to know if I can start playing again… I don’t want to grind if a rollback is coming. I imagine others feel the same and that’s possibly being reflected in server population? (Although I agree it is very normal to see populations fluctuate based on exams/holidays)

Based on the current findings, it doesn't appear to be a dupe, but rather a planned attack. Hence, a rollback is unlikely. The motivation for such action is unclear but we suspect it was an attempt to damage our reputation and/or to cause panic within the community. Some actions were taken immediately after the initial report, and the investigation is still ongoing. To uphold the security and integrity of the game, we are prioritizing this investigation to ensure that no dupe/exploit is left unpatched. Unfortunately, we can only provide limited information to conceal the investigation process. Thanks for your understanding.

Please make a report here if you acquired, or know someone who acquired an unreasonable amount of free meso/gear to help us investigate this matter, and to help you avoid a false positive ban.

 

What you mean exactly by 'planned attack'?

 

They planned the attack by duping injecting perfect weapons into the market via questionable means and sources, which totally weren't duped

I'm sure its an attempt to damage royals reputation, and it definitely did.

I'm quite sure no one in staff knows how this dupe works, period. Additionally there's too much issues such as the 19/95 DPS, and 6 avoid in particular as shared by @Donn1e.
Heck even the CS/WSs in the market right now makes me as a player feel.
- Yes, this dupe exists.

The last thing I want to hear from our staff team, "Oh, theres 100% no dupe in our server".
As much as possible, I'd still like to request for a proper rollback, because its indeed difficult to track down all the 145 Kanzir.
I hope to hear updates from the staff team asap!

A rollback to "fix the economy"? Ok, so if it truly helps to fix anything ..

But if you roll-back, this will hurt players like me tremendously, since I have no lv200, but got quite a few (~very) high lvl chars, I just play single client almost all the time, so any XP and gear I earn, I invest 100% of my lifetime into it without any optimization nor significant acceleration that comes with sofisticated multi client and all these nice things ..

If a rollback would fix anything, go ahead, but just dont do it to "fix economy" for rich players while cutting off the runner-ups, just like that - without even properly accessing if it might even do something positive (not saying anybody would nor is planning).

But just if you guys at staff think, this is likely in any way, just announce it already, so I stop grinding ..

I think it would be extremely unfair to not announce a possible roll-back. In any likely case like that, just shut down the server instead of letting people run into it ..

I saw 800 players for many years during non-event times, and I doubt that merch prices are affecting the population that much, but an explorative statistic would be necessary to shed light here, otherwise it is impossible to draw any conclusion anyway ...

A recession can have multiple reasons, and its just arbitrary motivations combined together most of the times (if you happen to simulate things like that for instance)..

 

I apologize if i didn't clarify about the rollback, my request was to rollback the perfect Kanzir/Kingcent dropping shenanigans, not that far.
If a additional 5 pieces of those is injected into the economy, sure it might not be a big impact.
But mentally players who owns such equipment, how would they feel?

I believe a 24hour rollback is still possible at this time, and I'm sure players would understand.

That aside, if @Tim can confirm that all Perf Kanzirs and Perf King Cents that was dropped on that day was properly confiscated, then no rollback will be required.

But! A good indepth investigation into this "dupe" issue is still a must.

 

Best of both worlds? Find the account of the person who dropped the perfect items, rollback just before kerning drop party, and ban them before it can happen.

I don’t know much about coding/programming but it sounds like it’s near impossible to track a player by starting with an item if it was dropped. I’d be skeptical that ALL the perf items would be returned based on self report alone. RWTers get banned not because the items/money was auto detected on their account, it’s 100% of the time through suspicion which led to investigation.

I could be wrong though, if this is possible then that’s even better let’s clear the items and no rollback.
