I don't know how many years it's been out, but to randomly buff it to the point where its this noticeable is wrong. It wasn't designed to be this difficult/annoying otherwise changes would have happened near release. I have had two buccs complain about Aufing with my pally because it requires them to SI every 15~ seconds. I used to average a death every 3 runs during auf on an unwashed bm, now it's an almost guaranteed death within 10 minutes. My shad of course is not affected at all, can just put feet on desk and chill. I also suggest fixing the God awful loot placement. We all know that shitty little loot pile in the left corner. Is it a bird? A plane? 5k NX? Who the fuck knows. How do i suggest a fix? Reduce the accuracy of dispel by 50% if she casts it twice as much now. Or reduce her number of attacks per minute. Designate the NX to one platform, the Auf helms to another platform. Or spread it out better.
Wouldn't it be possible to make Auf/Dunas v2 Rushable again since they're no longer "stunned/suppressed"? Edit: made mistake of adding Dunas v2 as its rushable
I personally think the change of the boss mechanics are nice, the way you were able to soft stunlock auf with kb was a bit cheesy. Isn't it appropriate that the highest level expedition on the server is difficult anyways?
I don't think this is the way to go about having auf be harder. When doing auf on my pally I swear I got dispelled nearly 100 times over the 40 minutes it took to solo her. If you look at the other threads regarding neo tokyo, v1 spams her iframe attack, core perma slows, nib spams rockets, and auf spams dispel, imo all are examples of un fun gameplay. Now instead of being able to auf on my unwashed bm with just hero will 5 and maybe a tl, i have to drop 1-2b on hero will 10. I understand that they had to change it for von leon, but it seems like they aren't interested or capable of stopping the added aggressiveness for the other bosses. mind you that the changes were done to prevent stunlocking bosses in mass parties, which 99.99% of nt and ht runs are not. So I don't think stunlocking auf with kb was even a thing unless you were doing a 30 man auf. Just seems like a nerf to all my classes except my shad and nl in regards to auf.
Well I'm glad you think so, but if you timed your kbs right to respond to the multi attack stagger, a single player could reduce the amount of casts auf would do throughout the fight by a very noticeable amount. Even just bringing a party that combined did a lot of kbs would stagger the boss a lot, this I don't really see happening after the change. As you said, there's a skill in the game now that's gonna increase your survival rate in the auf fight by a large amount. I think it's totally fair to expect you to buy HW10 to take an unwashed se consistently through the expedition, I'd be worried if this was something that you had to do for washed characters, which I haven't seen being the case in the expeditions I've done since the change. I see it this way, we get a more difficult expedition (clap), but we also get a way to specialize our character with HW10 to make the expedition easier, and thereby getting a new upgrade to get for our characters. From the perspective of game content I'd say that's a win-win and it might even help motivate people to run more VL now to get the HW10 books.
I think boss mechanism is fine but I swear there has to be better way to make the boss more aggressive without causing memory leakage. Boss expedition itself is mildly more annoying (5-6 min time gain on run compared to prev version), but the biggest threat now is that the game is so prone to pointer error whenever you go on an expedition. Same exact crashing issues as this year's Feb/March where character chat doesn't appear on screen/ clicking on other characters causes boot. This issue only occurs during bosses, not in any other content.
Considering that the statement by staff doesn't mention anything like this at all outside of mass parties, I refuse to believe this was done because of knockback heavy 3-5 man auf teams. In fact, this is the first I'm ever hearing that this was even a thing. I'll repeat myself, having auf spam dispel is not good boss design. It is an indirect buff to Shad/NL and hurts other classes. My pally has to buff Ice charge, stance, mw, booster, power guard, every 15-45 seconds. Difficult in a very annoying way is not good, my shad barely feels any of these changes but with bm and pally it is a nuisance. Hero will on a 180 second cooldown is an attempt at fixing the unwashed character issue but thats a 3 minute cooldown. Auf seduces every 30 seconds~ odds are your still dead. They need to reduce the accuracy of dispel imo or just slow her rate of attack. Once again, its only more difficult/annoying to the unwashed or low avoid classes and its a very poor way of incentivizing Von Leon.
I'm BW pally meaning I don't have mw. And usually I bring SI mule since that's a 19% dmg buff for me. So whenever I get dispelled I have to: Run right to be close to si/mw, recast si (one client), mw20 (2nd client), maybe se (3rd client, or ask for it), then move back before I get dispelled again since you get WAY more dispells when not right next to auf. Then stance, pg, booster, ice charge... and oops I got dispelled again. I once got stuck in the si/mw/se loop for like 30 seconds because auf kept spamming dispell orbs... Oh also I don't have enough sp to get HW10, so that's fun. At least I have 27k hp + pg + achilles so I can tank more than many
Right I forgot to mention that my buc friends dont even like going with my pally cause I constantly have to ask them for SI/MW while they get iframes against it.

AT LEAST SEPRATE THE HELMS AND NX ONTO PLATFORMS SO THEY ARE EASIER TO SEE TIRED OF GETTING NX YOINKED WHY ARE THERE 2 PILES WITH HELMS NX SCROLLS COINS AND THEN ALL THE OTHER NON VALUABLE STUFF SPREAD OUT
