Closed Cannot get past character selection screen - MAC ban on account.

    Problem : Unable to get past character selection screen - You have been disconnected from the server.

    Details : Hello! I am getting the issue as per the troubleshooting guide. I am playing from Singapore, but due to the regional lagginess and frequent disconnects at certain times of the day, a friend of mine recommended using a VPN to connect to the game instead. I am currently using a paid version of SurfShark VPN, and I actually connected to the UK's server to try when this issue came up. I also understand from reading past posts on VPN issues that the VPN provider might actually change the MAC addresses upon connection. But the thing is, I have checked my MAC address, it was still the same before and after. I even checked in with the SurfShark team and they confirmed that MAC addresses are untouched by them, only IP addresses. If its any help, I was able to play the game normally before I attempted to try the VPN, my normal ISP settings worked fine, just that it was very laggy at times, along with the disconnects, which were really hindering my gameplay. Any help or clarifications would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

    Update 1 : Upon checking further, it seems like when I got connected to the VPN, there is another network adapter in use without a physical address. I think that might be the issue. If anyone has any workaround for this, please do let me know!

    Update 2 : Contacted the team again, they advised to change protocol for the VPN and now it does have a valid mac address. Does this mean all is good...?

    Update 3 : Somehow after changing the protocol I am able to login from the UK already! Wowzies and yay!!!

    I had same issue. ExpressVPN didn’t work for me. I know use cyberghostvpn.com . Haven’t had any issues so far. Let me know if this helps.

    Thanks for the prompt response! But the thing is, I have been using surfshark for quite a while now, and the subscription is still relatively new so... I don't really wanna be paying for 2 VPN subscriptions at a time :(

    There is a money back guarantee if you just got it. And I understand. The only way I was able to fix it was thru cyber ghost. Or using my hotspot on my phone. There are other vpns as well that work. You could also look into if your vpn offer dedicated ips. It would cost more but you would have your own private ip that isn’t shared publicly

    Hahahaha unfortunately it has been going on for more than 6 months! But oh well, I guess stuff like these do happen sometimes!

    Also may i know what country you are connected to and if it has any lags/crashes?
