I've been running Royals on my M1 Macbook Pro (iOS Big Sur) with Wz setup and Crossover 22 (Windows 10 64-bit bottle) the past several patches/updates with no issue. However, after the most recent patch (January 18th, 2023), with both the Wz and IMG setups, I am able to open Royals but after about 25seconds I get bumped to the login screen and it says that I am unable to connect to the game. (No error codes) I was wondering if any other M1 Macbook Pro users were having the same issues as me and if anyone had any solutions. Also to Devs, is there something that changed with this update that makes it unusable to Crossover folks? Thanks in advance everyone! EDIT: If I stay on character select screen I can stay there indefinitely. I only get bumped back to log-in screen if I'm logged in EDIT: Things that I've tried that haven't worked for me -Restart computer -Windows 10 64 bit bottle IMG setup -tried both IMG links of download page with this setup-Windows 10 64 bit bottle Wz setup -Windows 10 32 bit bottle IMG setup -Windows 7 64 bit bottle IMG setup -Windows 7 32 bit bottle IMG setup -Windows XP 64 bit bottle IMG setup -GFX in game -Playing in full screen/staying in windowed -Connecting with phone data instead of home wifi -Change resolution in Mapleroyals file from "true" to "false"
same issue on macbook air m1 - windows xp 32bit IMG though - how do you get it to work on m1 pro? so many people on the crossover guide cant get it to work on pro models
Same here ! But on 2nd client gets kicked back to login and after few sec the first client does same back to login Runing 1client img window mode with resolution set on false seems fine
It seems like it doesn't happen when you stay in the cash shop. I can just hang out in the cash shop for as long as I want but as soon as I come back I get dced again.
@pinkchocoa I talked about it in a different thread. Basically, what I learned after some testing with different Mac iOS is that for M1 MacBook Pros, Royals only seems to be able to run on Mac iOS Big Sur or earlier. In the thread somewhere I linked the YouTube video I used to downgrade my system’s iOS from Ventura to Monterey and then from Monterey to Big Sur. Unfortunately, not all m1 MacBooks pros can complete the downgrade (I think it depends on the iOS your MacBook came with). For those that can’t downgrade to Big Sur I don’t think there’s a solution. But, I think it’s worth a shot for people with a m1 MacBook Pro if they can backup their data and don’t mind being on Big Sur. link to thread i was talking about https://royals.ms/forum/threads/royals-playable-on-m1-mac.201135/page-3
any update on this? It still keeps happening to me but have any of you guys found any temporary solutions? Any progress on the devs part?
I haven't found any solution. I imagine it would probably require the devs to do a server check/patch in order to fix the issue once they find a solution. It'll probably be at least a week until that happens? So we most likely just have to be patient and wait.
the funniest thing is that no member of the staff even came here to give any clarification, at least a "we are analyzing the matter" I found a very good and practical solution! I'm abandoning mapleroyals and migrating to a Maple that has mac support and more competent and attentive staff. Royals have been stagnant and in the comfort zone for a long time.
@naodoblue To be fair to the staff, as you can see from pinkchocoa’s screenshot in this thread, they (yeepog) actually addressed the situation pretty quickly in the shoutbox and appear to be working on a solution.
Hey staff could we get any updates on this situation? It's been a week since the server check and we've all been waiting patiently but I haven't heard anything in a long time.
Same issue here with my macbook air m1 It's sad how staff wont fix this but in other servers you get full support. My friend also owns the same laptop as i do and has the same issue, she told me she had no issues before.
im guessing we will need to at least wait till CNY event ends. yes but, mapleroyals never advertised as compatible with macbook. getting it to work on windows is their main priority.
